About me:
Volta Coffee, Tea & Chocolate serves handcrafted espresso drinks, loose-leaf teas, and relationship chocolates in a contemporary environment. Working with our roaster (Intelligentsia), we offer a range of direct trade and organic coffees; our selections change by the season as new coffee crops are harvested. All brewed coffees are made by-the-cup on our Clover brewer. Our espresso drinks are prepared on a LaMarzocco GB5 (with a 3-phase Robur grinder) using Intelligentsia's Black Cat Espresso-- although we also feature guest espressos and single origin espressos when we find a good one. No syrups, no super-sized drinks: just great espresso served in traditional Italian styles. Volta's teas are loose-leaf, brewed in glass tea pots at the proper temperature for each style of tea. Current offerings include (among others) Japanese Karigane and Sencha, Iron Goddess of Mercy oolong, an amazing 2nd flush Darjeeling, top grade Lapsong, and the most wonderful peppermint tea we've ever tried. For chocolates, we carry Askinosie, Vosges, Maglio, Escazu, Blanxart, and Cuorenero-- and we have a full drinking chocolate menu. We also have a full selection of great pastries and desserts from 2nd Street Bakery. Volta is located in Gainesville's 2nd Street Parking Garage at 48 SW 2nd Street, and we're open from 7 until 10 on Mon-Fri, 9-10 on Saturday and 9-5 on Sunday.
