The Voltaire Twins have only been playing music live for about a year now, but they've already carved out a huge reputation on both sides of the country for their unique brand of dark art-pop.
The Perth based two-piece, made up of siblings Jaymes Voltaire and Tegan Voltaire fuse electro-pop synthesis with indie dance music, creating a unique and exciting sound.
Live, they combine with drummer Jye Satti to form a dynamic three-piece, as mesmerizing as they are energetic.
In the last year they have supported or played on bills with such international bands as Ladytron, Walter Meego, Yelle, Digitalism, Cicada, Para One, Soulwax, Peaches, Neon Neon, Goldfrapp, So So Modern and Dragonette, as well as Aussie acts The Presets, Van She, The E.L.F, Sam Sparro, Gameboy/Gamegirl, Dukes Of Windsor, Miami Horror, Bang Gang Deejays and Grafton Primary.
In 2008 they were the WA winners in the Triple J Unearthed Parklife competition, leading to nationwide airplay for their upcoming single D.I.L. In early 2009 they played the Summadayze and Good Vibrations Festivals in Perth, the latter of which saw them taking the main stage for the first time.
Their tracks have been heavily blogged, leading to remix requests from as far abroad as Portugal, Berlin and San Francisco.
