Voltax was formed in the beginning of 2006 under the name "Voltage", after Thaurval's' split up, "Gova" And "Ganso" decide to make contact with their old friend "Matt" in order to start a new Heavy Metal cover band.
They began to write original music as "Lord of the sluts", they soon found a new second guitar player "Isaac" in order to make a more powerful but still classic sound also the name of the band was changed for something more unique, "Voltax" is born, later on they found the biggest mexican Udo-Accept fan "Jerry"whose vocals fitted perfectly for the rising band.
With the complete line up they recorded "Discharge" the first demo, where you can find influences from N.W.O.B.H.M. bands to mid 80's american speed metal bands.
Already playing around Mexico City promoting "Discharge", they were quickly signed by "Blower Records".
On november of 2007 they asked "Diego M"(former original StrikeMaster bassist) to join the band on the guitar department, due to Isaac..s job duties and his lack of time for live shows. The album was also released on november of that same year.
Already promoting the album playing shows all over Mexico some sad news striked Voltax,Isaac couldnt carry on with the band,leaving a 5 piece band...VOLTAX is active and playing as much as they can,and they are aiming for the top! so watch out for Voltax on tour!.
La historia de VOLTAX comienza con el rencuentro de tres viejos amigos preparatorianos en Febrero de 2006; Ganzo, Matt y Gova.
Despues de que THAURVAL, banda de thrash-speed mechas, a la que pertenecian Ganzo y Gova decide tomarse un receso, estos dos albureros de pulcata deciden ponerse en contacto con su viejo amigo Matt para tocar algunos covers de verdadero Heavy Metal en sus tiempos libres.
Sin embargo pronto la fuerza del verdadero Metal rebaso las espectativas de estos macuarros y empiezan a surgir las primeras rolas originales como la en ese entonces llamada "Las putas de la Merced" (Lord of the sluts).
Es en este momento cuanto se ve la necesidad de un segundo guitarrista razon por la que es ingresa Isaac al grupo, con el cual llega una conexion especial que lleva a una avalancha creativa.
Finalmente faltaba lo mas dificil encontrara un vocalista que cantara nacamente el estilo heavy de la banda, funcion que llego a cumplir Jerry.
Asi con la alineacion completa en Agosto de 2006, el grupo empeza el proceso de acoplamiento y grabacion de su primer demo "Discharge", que contiene un heavy metal con influencias que van desde la NWOBHM hasta el speed metal gabacho de mediados de los ochenta.
La banda empezo a promocionar el demo tocando tanto en el df como en el interior de la Republica, el demo abrio mucho las puertas y posteriormente la empresa Blower Records se interesa en fichar a la banda.
El 17 de noviembre de 2007 salio a la venta el primer disco de la banda titulado "Voltax" asi como tambien se unio Diego M (ex-bajista original de StrikeMaster)como guitarrista ya que Isaac, porcompromisos laborales tenia poco tiempo para hacer tocadas en vivo. Actualmente en el 2008,Isaac deja la banda definitivamente, aun asi se sigue promocionando el disco,y Voltax sigue en pie de lucha tratando de que el verdadero Heavy Metal llegue a todo Mexico y al mundo!
