the chemistry between dj joxe, who has been musically active since 1988, and sebastian silber works on the classic level dj meets producer, dj introduces producer to the secrets and codes of club music
while producer shows the dj what happens when you twist a few knobs for their joint project "voltique" the two stuttgarters have developed
their own sound aesthetic, blending the blatancy of 80s electro, new
wave and italo disco with tricky minimalist production in their very own handwriting.
their debut on get physical music coincides with a voltique remix claiming the dcc's pole position. their interpretation of "nifty nights" by stuttgart-based friends "dublex inc" (on pulver rec.) follows a similar vein to the 3-track ep on hand.
in june 2004 voltique released their first single vinyl with „whoop“, „alternative dance from hell“ and „be loud“.
parallel to their release voltique had been on get physical labeltour with m.a.n.d.y and dj t. in more than 20 citys.
the international feedback on their productions have been incredible
and the music magazin “beam me up” [matthias schaffh..user] values their
release as the best get physical label release up to and including.
also in the uk they got big respect from justin harris [music for freaks] „whoop is dope“ 8 from 10 points and the dj mag [uk], assigns 4 from 5 points.
in the dj charts they have been suddenly on the top end and got support from ivan smagghe, laurent garnier, david duriez, justin harris,
jori hulkkonen, etc...
in may 2005 they presented their version of northern lites „treat me better“ (dance award winner 2005), the reason why sugarcane recordings (new orleans) also put their advertence on voltique.
morgen pages „outside the city“ was therefore voltiques first remix
request from overseas.
june ..05 – fine records from London released their first vinyl series „finery 1“ with voltiques „smell of sweat“ that brought them the biggest respect from the internationale dj-league and press for sure.
with a release on get physicals “full body workout pt. 2” the two voltique boys
from stuttgart will finish 2006 and will launch with a new remix on whirlpoolsex music and
a punch in your face with “supersmile” release on 10th anyversary label compilation mixed and selected by superstar dj hell.
this has to be continued on love triangle music – a brand new cool british label with quite well known heads behind…
