Interests

  • General

Music, Radio (good radio that is, not your run of the mill repetitive commercial top-40 type crap) Live music, concerts/festivals

  • Music

I like way too much music to list it all here. Jazz and jambands are my main thing although I like all different types of music.

To give you a better idea, visit the websites I have for my radio show

    Stumble In The Dark
    http://www.stumbleinthedark.com

Off the top of my head: Railroad Earth, Tea Leaf Green, The Slip, Zilla, Honkeytonk Homeslice, Hot Buttered Rum, Todd Mosby, Madahoochie, Jakes' Leg, The Schwag, Dog Tone Allstars, Steve Kimock Band, Grateful Dead, The Big Wu, John Scofield, Yonder Mountain String Band, Frank Zappa, Tony Furtado, String Cheese Incident, Screaming Headless Torsos, King Crimson, Yes, Steely Dan, Gov't Mule, Allman Brothers, Keller Williams, Ozric Tentacles, Warren Zevon, Traffic, Col. Bruce Hapmton & The Codetalkers/Aquarium Rescue Unit, Blueground Undergrass, Asylum Street Spankers, Little Feat...and the list goes on and on.

  • Movies

Don't really have a lot of time for movies.

Still love the Python movies, Blazing Saddles, Strange Brew and of course the Cheech & Chong movies. On the serious side I loved Shawshank Redemption.

And of course there's the Grateful Dead Movie, The Band's The Last Waltz, The Wall.

  • Television

I don't own a TV and wouldn't have time to watch one if I did

    "I am gross and perverted
    I’m obsessed ’n deranged
    I have existed for years
    But very little had changed
I am the tool of the government
    And industry too
For I am destined to rule
    And regulate you
I may be vile and pernicious
    But you can’t look away
I make you think I’m delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
    Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin’ out
From your tv set" -- FZ

  • Books

Don't really have time to read, other than music publications. I'm visually impaired so reading a book takes more time than I have these days.
  • Heroes

My heroes are the unsung heroes that never ask for any credit for what they do. My heroes are those who give more than they ask in return. My heroes give random acts of kindness.

I love radio, good radio, not corporate top whatever crap. There really is good radio and good music out there you just have to find it. I've been involved in radio for 10 years and love it. I currently do a community radio show and would eventually like to have a full time regular slot 5 days a week programming good music.

If you are an artist / band and would like to send music for consideration please drop me a line or an IM.

Don't miss Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon in his electric folk, alt-country, a dash of bluegrass and good ol' rock and roll side project that is Great American Taxi at Lincoln's newest venue the Bourbon Theatre this Wednesday June 24th!!. Tickets only $10 in advance!!

Great American Taxi's sound has been compared to a variety of roots oriented bands including New Riders of the Purple Sage, a "Grateful Dead for the new millennium," Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, The Byrds and more. People will hear threads of the Leftover Salmon fabric propelled by an inspired Herman being supported by a cast of talented minstrels ready to follow Herman to the land of 'Festival!" Herman's in-your- face, in-the-moment improvisation helps bring the party to Taxi's well-crafted songs. People from all backgrounds will be able to latch onto something in the band's sound. Great American Taxi is truly a melting pot of musical tastes and styles all rolled into their "Americana without borders." The band has appeared at several premier music festivals including High Sierra Music Fest, Wakarusa, Summer Camp, 10,000 Lakes Festival, Dunegrass, and Nightgrass slots at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
