VONDUR was formed in 1993 by IT, the creator of such cult acts as OPHTHALAMIA and ABRUPTUM, as a one-man project. He released one demo tape, and in 1995 was joined by ALL - former ABRUPTUM vocalist. The two men then proceeded to work on what would become one of the most evil and aggressive albums ever made in this realm of the living - "Stridsyfirlysing". The album was recorded at Helvete Studios. The album's title is icelandic for "Declaration of War", which ironically is totally what VONDUR stands for. War against Christianity and Humanity!
This album is a look into the twisted minds of IT and ALL. This diabolical duo have created the most intense Black Metal album ever made. It is a release that pushes the limits of the genre to the hilt, and keeps going. The songs are played at hyper fast holocaust speed and don't let up. IT's guitars and thundering bass lines will rip your fucking face off, and if that's not enough, ALL's vocals which are a sinister mix between Dead and Quorthon, will torture what's left of you!!! Fortunately, VONDUR does not play anymore live shows. The only two known shows ended up with much loss of life. That was in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
VONDUR will redefine the Black Metal genre as it's known today for this band doesn't rely on the past, but strongly on the future. When asked to describe VONDUR, bandwarrior IT says "VIOLENCE. It can't be described in any other words - just VIOLENCE!!!" An appropriate description for no other words will come to mind after listening to "Stridsyfirlysing". VONDUR despises peace. When Bandwarrior IT was asked about his pet peeves, his main complaint: Peace. "I despise peace, and Cannondale bikes, they really irk me!"
