   About Voodoo Van Boogie

My profile was customized using the Taming the Beast.net MySpace Layout Generator

.. We are VoodooVanBoogie, a three peice Blues-Rock band.We play a "ever expanding" repertoire of songs by the likes of Jimi Hendrix,Stevie Ray Vaughan,Robert Cray,Cream,BB King,John Mayall,Chuck Berry etc etc to name but a few. Lead Guitar/Vocals - Johnny H - a frontman guitarist/vocalist with years of experience spent gigging, recording ( jamming? ),and even touring with a very wide variety of bands and musicians including the Doncaster Jazz Orchestra and a ex member of Pink Floyd amongst many others. His guitar style is a blend of the ethos of many guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix,Eric Johnson,Stevie Ray Vaughan,Jeff Beck,Buddy Guy,Ritchie Blackmore...and almost anybody else who has played a "Strat" in a Blues based kinda way....his singing ain..t too bad either. Drums - Richie Hunter - a well known and highley regarded Drummer on the circuit, richie has played ( and still does ) with a wide number of some of the most well known bands on the local Scene. His groove and feel brings a solid drive to every song the band plays, along with a huge ammount of passion, enthusiasum, and fun too.Influences-wise Richie brings a John Bonham-ness / Mitch Mitchell'Ness to the proceedings, whilst at the same time bringing influences from many of the drumming greats to the band too. Rich has played styles such as Rock, Blues, Jazz, Soul, Motown, Funk to list just a few of his styles. Bass - Lee Bradley - Another well known and experienced player on the local scene,Lee brings to the band a fluid drive and musicality that easily belies his years. With a strong background in jazz,jazz-rock fusion and various other styles he brings to the band a solid drive and rythm that gets the song moving along and the feet tapping.Watch out for the 8 string bass solo..s too!! His influences are many from Jaquo Pastorious,John Entwhistle and Stanley Clarke to many others.... Wherever we play we will provide you with a show ( or gig, depending on what you like to call a live band playing "live" ) that will rock the house, entertaining anybody within ear-shot all night long with a foot tapping blend of guitar based blues,blues-rock,funky blues, and rock n roll based music, song after song. We have a great passion for the blues genre, be it rock blues, jazz blues, RnB, or just plain and simple, The Blues and hope to convey this with immense driving beats and notes played with feeling and sincerity.
