I've changed the rules so I don't have to learn the tinwhistle. Instead I'm going to learn the Bones, Spoons, and Bodhran, and also the Washboard and Bucket String-Bass (or whatever it's called), if possible. I'm going to be my own novice jug-ish band- without the jug. Keep practicing! It is supposed to get easier, I hear.
