"The project VO SKORBYAH has been created in the beginning of 2005 by musicians of groups OPRICH, BOG MOROK and KRYNITZA under initiative of Jaromir (vocalist and guitarist of OPRICH). Jaromir developed the concept and collected all necessary text material. We have decided to create a slavic variant of funeral doom based on national pre-christian funeral tradition and ceremonialism. As texts of songs have been used funeral lamentations which have kept pagan representations of Slavs about death, a next world and mutual relations of alive and dead. The musical component of the project is a combination of national melodies and heavy depressive metal sounding. For a year the album consisting of five songs has been recorded. Four of them are incorporated by the general idea and tell one history about death of the head of the family - the father, the orphans and the loneliness. The fifth song is some kind of experiment, where real dirge of the inhabitant of village Podserednee (crying about the died child) and cold electronic sounding is combined".
