Jeremy Cottrell and Jason Gantt are songwriters living in Nashville TN. They love music and know a good opportunity when they see it. So when American Idol announced that they were holding a Songwriting Competition, they were up for the challenge! They wrote the song My Chance with Steve Misamore in April of 2007. Unfortunately, Idol passed on the song, but they were so encouraged by all of the positive feedback from everyone online that they decided to go for round 2. They wrote I Still Believe with Chris Phillips, and submitted both it and My Chance for the 2008 Competition on March 31. The Top 20 songs will be selected and announced on April 10, which is when voting is open to the public. Wish them luck! And enjoy I Still Believe!

Your song is so much better it would be silly and redendant to explain why to anyone who's ever heard it!I am SO bummed you guys didn't win! I am so serious when I say that I want to buy your song so I can listen to it whenever i want! Oh mAN! I know you are in Tennesse but I would like to think that someday WE can all work together sometime if that's okay with you! I LOVE your sound and style and it would suit my voice well! CGM, Still think your song was the best for the contest of all that I've heard. It definitely has "It" written, performed and sung all over it. Just look at how it's affected your competitors and your fans, here and elsewhere on the Net - the truest measure there is!
I will say it again...your song should have been in the top 20. I can't find another I enjoy listening to as much as 'My Chance'. You should release it! XOXO
I just listened to the American Idol 20 songs and there wasn't a single song that was as memorable as this. Actually there weren't any songs that were even interesting compared to yours. Keep shopping yourselves, you don't need a singer for your songs, you need a label for your music.
I listened to the songs and i just cannot believe that your song did not make it.. they had some real depressing songs on there .. noyt sure what half of them had to do with winning american idol.. but you can bet i am still your fan and think you were ROBBED big time!

I can't believe 'My Chance' didn't make the top 20! I just went through listening to the finalists and 'My Chance' was easily better than almost all of them!
I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry that your song didn't make the Top 20! I still think that it deserved to win the competition - out of every song I heard, yours was the best. Nonetheless, I'm sure that you are going to have success with it because tons of people have heard it and love it!
I'll definitely be buying the track it if it is made available on ITunes!
