People that join my group (http://groups.myspace.com/votekoehn) and help turn our government around.
The government of Wisconsin needs to work for the families and small businesses instead of the large corporations, special interests, and the wealthy that hold sway now. I have had enough of the status quo, I hope you have too.
Let me see if you agree these are problems for the people of Northeastern Wisconsin and the 89th:
-Is it time working people were given a tax break?
-Has enough been done to eliminate scandal and corruption in Washington and Madison?
-Is it important to close tax loopholes for corporations and the wealthy that allow them to pay no tax at all?
-Are you looking for affordable health care instead of whatever the insurance companies want to charge you?
-Is it important to make school funding as equitable as possible throughout the state?
-Should the minimum wage be a livable wage?
-Is it important to invest in sustainable energy to be produced here in Northeast Wisconsin?
-Is government effort wasted on bills, such as TABOR, that are out of mainstream views?
-Can agriculture, industry and tourism all work together as one to provide high paying jobs to replace those we’ve lost?
-Can our tourism economy survive if we do not protect the environment upon which it depends?
-Do you want to have Texas and Florida as role models, or should Wisconsin become an example for other states again?
Yes, all of these can and must be addressed by our government to make Wisconsin a leader in the United States - a role model once again for other states to follow.
Being a lifelong resident of this area, as well as teaching in our schools for the past 15 years has allowed me to see the impact Republican leadership has had on us.
The time for change is now.
