Come visit Africa for a moment. Julius Awafong, leader of the Fair Choice Party, shows us some of the situation -- from foraging for clean water and cooking in clay pots to riots in the streets from unfair fuel and food prices. He feels vote sizing can greatly change the situation there. What do you think?
Votesizing has found a stronghold in South America -- more specifically, Colombia -- where the people have grown unhappy with the level of government corruption. Watch this video to hear more about votesizing's effort to empower Latinos so their votes count:

The Democratic Empowerment Party is headquartered in Vancouver, with a branch of the party in Cameroon, Africa.
President Steve Glickman founded the party in order to promote vote sizing, a radical reform of the voting system that gives poor, working and middle class people larger votes. Vote sizing respects the wisdom of ordinary people and believes they are the ones who best know how to root out corruption in government. We are working to establish chapters of the DEP all over the world to elect candidates who support weighting votes inversely to income, with the goal of restoring balance between power and wealth.
This is the story of a Canadian philosopher, a Cameroonian writing coach, an American writer and a Colombian administrator working to elevate the voices of the politically disenfranchised around the world. This story has only just begun, and if you like, you can help write the next chapter.
No doubt you’ve heard of efforts to politically empower people before. But Steve G, Julius A and Doug B go further than most. These reformers believe that poor, working and middle class people should have larger votes. And they’re working in some of the most dangerous parts of the world to spread the vote sizing message in a NON-VIOLENT way...
Who I'd like to meet: People in the middle class, people in the working class, people experiencing poverty, people who feel disenfranchised, the optimistic, dreamers, visionaries, philosophers, everyone with a desire to reform the current voting system!
Thanks for adding me as a friend (I think you found me rather than the other way round).
There are revolutionary songs you (or others visiting your profile) may like to hear, by my bands Red Day and Galaxia, and some unaccompanied musical poetry I performed last year, on my profile. "9/11 Inside Job" is particularly important.
You may even like to add some music to your profile; I am now using Project Playlist (www. playlist. com) - far better than the MySpace software or MyFlashFetish that I used to use; it's very easy to use and free from censorship.
So so sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Its because weve been busy and we ALWAYS check out pages before we add and its times like these im glad. You have a brilliant page full of fantastic blogs and ideas and its an honour to have you in our friends list.

You'd think we should be able to do better than one vote per person (haha, i'nt THAT a silly thought, to abolish the electoral college?), but I'd settle for the votes cast being counted accurately, which would be a tremendous accomplishment and is definitely NOT happening in this land of the free...
Memorial Day is set aside each year to remember those who gave their lives in the armed forces. We remember those who died on far away battlefields to bring freedom and democracy to oppressed peoples. We commemorate their actions by honoring them in ceremonies across the land. We sometimes call it Decoration Day because we decorate the graves of fallen heroes with flags and flowers.
When Israel crossed the Jordan River to enter the Promised Land for the first time, God commanded Joshua to pile up a heap of stones at the place. "So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever." The stones memorialized God's great grace.
As a great statue of David memorializes the work of Michelangelo, the universe commemorates the genius of the living God. "The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands" (Psalm 19:1). We see His might, power, glory and strength in the brightness of the distant stars, the glow of the blazing comet, and in the shadow of a lunar eclipse.
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made" (Romans 1:20). The universe is God's Memorial. Every day is therefore God's Memorial Day.
Because we choose to serve the greed and lust of our masters to fulfill our own greedy, lustful desires. The power we give them is in turn used to enslave the poor who serve for mere sustenance. As population grows and resources deminsh more will find themselves wage slaves serving for just survival. Self reliance is the way to freedom!
