I never believed that my program of rapid dismantling of Federal Government regulations could have brought things to this state in the last year of my Presidency, but just look how far I have brought America. Last week, my Administration spooked Congress into a stampede mindset, and now it is all about just herding the lemmings. This bailout plan Hank Paulson and I thought up is so great. It is a huge step forward towards privatizing social security and all them medical care programs. I will be leaving John McCain a great platform from which he can launch the final Republican solution. He and Sarah are just the pair to bring us to the golden city on the highest hill of an ultimate trickle down economy.

Look at them! They are all just milling around like lemmings up there in Minneapolis, without the Vice President and me being there to lead them. If they don’t become organized, John McCain can’t ever win and me and my Administration will be open to serious scrutiny. Investigations that Old John promised he wouldn’t let happen will be popping up like daisies in spring, proceedings that could put my whole Bush legacy in history’s doghouse.

There may be no better news than reports just a couple days ago that the Iraqi Prime Minister is rejecting "aspirational dates" and "time horizons" and is demanding instead specific dates for the US withdrawal. There will be those who argue that chaos will result. I recommend the Iraq Transitional Assistance Group plan and the Task Force for a Responsible Withdrawal from Iraq report as ways we can help the Iraqis avoid chaos. We are leaving. They will have to deal with the consequences. We should help.
