ABOUT VOTUM

Zespol istnieje od 2003 roku. Przez trzy lata nieprzerwanie pojawial sie na scenach warszawskich klubow, a takze w innych miastach Polski dajac koncerty i promujac singiel "Jestem" który w 2006 roku zostal wydany wraz z czasopismem Heavy Metal Pages. We wrzesniu tego samego roku do grupy dolaczyli nowi czlonkowie zmienilo sie takze podejscie do tworzenia muzyki. Kompozycje zespolu przybraly bardziej progresywny charakter. Po osmiu miesiacach prac nad nowym materialem zespol Votum zarejestrowal 8 utworow wchodzacych w sklad albumu "Time must have a stop".

Votum to nie tylko dzwiek. Niezwykle wazna role w tworczosci grupy, odgrywaja takze teksty. Tresc utworow jest podobnie jak muzyka swoistym spoiwem wszystkich kompozycji. Tlo stanowi bogata oprawa wizualna, autorstwa grupy "mindfield". W Votum warstwa muzyczna, wizualna i teksty wzajemnie sie przenikaja, takie bylo tez glowne zalozenie grupy przy tworzeniu nowego albumu. Przez muzyke, tekst i wizualizacje wyrazamy emocje i tworzymy specyficzny klimat, dlatego tez komponujac nowe utwory nie zastanawiamy sie czy swoim charakterem wpisza sie one w jakis okreslony nurt.

VoTuM have existed since 2003. We have performed regularly in clubs in Warsaw and other places in Poland, actively promoting a single entitled “Jestem” which was released attached to Heavy Metal Pages magazine in May 2006. September 2006, however, brought significant changes not only to the band’s line-up, but also to the repertoire and their style of music, which took on a more progressive mood. After an eight-month period of working on new music, eight brand new tracks were recorded for the album entitled “Time must have a stop”.

Votum is not only concerned with sound though. The band pay the utmost attention to song lyrics which, like the music, function as a sort of a binding material for the compositions. In addition, rich visual setting is provided by Mindfield Art Group and serves as a background for the pieces. The merging of music, lyrics and visual art work, as well as the ensuing emotional expression, have been the key concepts for the creation of the new album. Our main concern is not any particular style of music, but the atmosphere pouring out of it.
