About me:
VOX is the Latin word for "voice". Vox: Voices For Planned Parenthood is a program that educates young Americans about the threats to reproductive health and rights and mobilizes them in support of reproductive freedom.
In other words, we're a bunch of totally cool students who hang out, have fun and help protect a woman's right to healthcare.

The following are links to a couple more sites on which to love all up on VOX:
-Facebook Group
-Youtube Page
-Planned Parenthood Advocates of WI (basically our big mamma)

I'm not a feminist, but...
-I apreciate the right to help choose my government representatives.
-I enjoy the option of wearing pants or shorts if I want.
-I'm pleased that I was allowed to learn to read and write.
-It can be very convenient to control how many babies I want to have.
-It's awfully useful to be able to open a bank account and own property in my name.
-I like knowing that my husband or boyfriend cannot leagally beat me.
-And it's really swell to keep the money that I earn.

Who I'd like to meet:
Any woman who think that men should keep their buisiness off of our overies; men who love their woman and want them to have the best care possible; and anyone who thinks that they can make a difference.

Thanks for being a friend of Fighting Bob Fest!

On September 8th, we will be gathering to demand peace and justice in several realms including the War in Iraq, global warming, educational finance, and clean elections. Please check out our website FightingBobFest.org for information on this year’s speakers and pre-registration (and volunteering if anyone is interested).

See you in Baraboo!

More than four decades after the legalization of birth control, Wisconsin ranks 36th out of 50 states in the availability of contraceptive services and supplies.

As we celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized birth control for married couples, it's outrageous that we continue to fight for the right to access birth control, especially for rape victims.

Learn more and find out how you can help protect access to birth control and pass the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims bill!

The Supreme Court's reckless decision dealt an alarming blow to women's health and opened the door for additional attacks on women's health in the Wisconsin Legislature.

Planned Parenthood is working hard to do what the U.S. Supreme Court refused to--protect women's health and keep politicians out of women's personal medical decisions.

But we need your help. Join with Planned Parenthood, and thousands of people all across Wisconsin, to stand together to protect women's health.

Last Wednesday the Supreme Court decided to uphold the Federal Abortion Ban. With this ruling the court gave politicians the green light to make medical decisions for women and doctors. To protest this outrageous ruling, we will hold a National Day of Action tomorrow, April 25th, to let politicians and the Supreme Court know that politicians should not practice medicine and that women's health must be protected. This is a great opportunity for you to get involved and we could REALLY use your help.

Some ideas for National Day of Action Activities are:
1. Hold a rally on your campus voicing your outrage at the Supreme Court decision- make signs and posters with slogans like "Protect Women's Health," "It's about health and safety," or "My body, my health, my choice!"

2. Have a letter writing party and write letters to the editor of your school or local newspapers.

3. Hold a "Burma Shave," also known as a "Honk and Wave"- get a bunch of people together, make signs, and find a busy street corner to stand on and promote our message as people drive by!

4. Do some tabling with information about the Supreme Court decision to help inform people- there is a lot of information on the Planned Parenthood website (www.plannedparenthood.org), or on saveroe.com.

5. Have people sign the "Planned Parenthood Pledge"- which can be found on saveroe.com.

6. Go to the "Wall of Protest" at http://www.wallofprotest.com. This is a place to post photos and videos expressing your outrage over the Federal Abortion Ban (it's also a great place to share some of the activities your Vox group is has taken part in).

If you haven't already done so, you should definitely go to saveroe.com and check the event finder to see what events might already be scheduled in your area.

Thanks! Your help is integral in getting our message out!
