Summer at the Open Mic cruises on this Holiday Weekend at the hippest spot on Cortelyou Road -- now with ventilation! Punxsutawney swears that the tunes he's been supposed to debut will show up soon -- the new theme song for the Open Mic: "Vox Pop Boogie", and a ditty you'll just have to hear to decide whether you like it or not.
Songs, stories, poems and politics. Everyone welcome. No cover, but 2 drink (or snack) minimum. Hosted by local musician Punxsutawney Jesus -- "The Great Pontificator".
Come join us every Sunday. Videotape yourself and send us the video. We’ll post excerpts of the best on the site. Three song/fifteen minute maximum. Musician, Poet, Rapper, Spoken Wordsmith -- bring your art to the Open Mic.
And soon, look for a monthly revue at Vox Pop called "Open Mic Presents", showcasing acts culled from previous Open Mic nights and hosted by Punxsutawney Jesus himself.
