VOX Traverse City - Planned Parenthood 's Blurbs |
About me:
There are a few of us who have started a Planned Parenthood VOX group on the NMC campus. They are all over the country, and NMC now is the 9th chapter in Michigan!
Vox is the Latin word for "voice" and Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood is a nationwide program to energize and mobilize the new generation of pro-choice Americans. Vox aims to educate and inspire college students to advocate reproductive freedom.
Through Vox, college students across the country organize events on campus to raise public awareness about reproductive health and rights, educate young people at concerts about sexual health, work with and support their local Planned Parenthood health centers, and mobilize advocates of reproductive rights.
There's power in the voices of pro-choice students on our campus. When you organize those voices as a Vox group and work together to take action for reproductive health and rights, you have a force that's more powerful than if you work alone.
Not only will we be dealing with reproductive rights, but we will also advocate the teaching of comprehensive sexual education in public schools.
Just thought I would give people a heads up, join us, we rule. We go to local shows to let kids know that there are choices (such as birth control and condom use) they can make to keep themselves safe and healthy...even if their schools are telling them differently. We are changing the world, and its about damn time.
