About me:
Pics from Coachella 2008...
I first heard "All in the Mind" at The Venue club in South London in 1992. It blew me away and forced me to go up to the DJ and ask him who this amazing song was by. He said one word "Verve" and from there the love affair began.
Here's my ticket from the first gig of the first comeback tour in '97 (What a night!!!!!)
Initially the Leadmill decided that THE comeback gig was to be pay-on-the-door only! Thankfully they changed their mind or else it would have been mayhem trying to get in!!
And here's my ticket from the third gig of the first comeback tour in '97.
The date on the ticket is from the June comeback dates which were cancelled due to Richard being ill.
I met Simon Jones at the end of July '07, he was playing a gig with his mate Steve Mason the ex-Beta Band front man.
Simon told me the band had spent a week together in a studio performing new material.
He said the new songs are "amazing, experimental, some of the best stuff we've ever done!!!"
Who I'd like to meet: Amazing version of GG/EB from Toronto '95...
Could be the best Verve moment ever broadcast?
Sobbo, McCabe and Jonesy in full effect. McCabe's guitar work is simply mindblowing and Ashcroft with eyes closed feelin the tune is sublime. It's what we've missed through the years.
No strings, no bullshit, just 4 lads from Wigan giving it everything.
Hi Neil!! I recevied a message on my space yesterday..and I'm very happy to know that Nick is alive :) But I think that verve are dead again unfortunately..
if you have got news from manchester please let me know ;)
soooo, how are the new b-sides? i tried to order them, but they weren't available to purchase in american dollars (has it's value slipped that much?)
i was able to get the live track download, but what about "all night long", the new "remix", and "major force"? i'm really curious about m. f.
...back on the u. h. tour, they would often take the stage to a tune called "sax hoodlum", by a japanese group called Major Force. my hope is that it's an homage to that track, which is monstrous.
well neil. cheers for that t-shirt by the way. speedy delivery. so whats your fav track on fourth then! any whispers of gigs at all over there in england??
Thanks much. I'm sure we all look to you, for the inside track. I've been warming up to their new LP more & more in my car, lately. I hope all is good for you and yours!
Anyone know where I can download any acoustic Live version of " On Your own"? If you interested in Verve take a look at http://valiumskies. blogspot. com/
