Named after the fictitious talk show featured in American Psycho this London trio play jerky melodic C86-style pop reminiscent of The Wedding Present. Jarring guitars and slightly awkward male vocals combine with contrasting female harmonies to great effect, creating some charming but definitely not twee, indie pop melodies.
New single ’You Are Wrong’ released on 29th October as a limited run of white vinyl follows on from last year’s well received debut ’ People Like Us Aren’t Meant To Win Things’ on Tiger Trap.
Coming from the Artrocker school of pop, THE PATTY WINTERS SHOW are delightfully catchy and bring to mind the jerky melodies of The Young Knives, and an awkward brand of new wave pop.’Artrocker
"Harmony drenched art pop." - Time Out
"Awkward, understated Englishness combined with aggressive angular pop music" " Joyzine
"a deceptively catchy, harmony laden pop racket" - Fake DIY
LOAD.CLICK.SHOOT!
Winners of the Artrocker - " who described them as ’the bastard love child of Test Icicles and The Blood Brothers’ - unsigned band competition, Devon four piece LOAD.CLICK.SHOOT! play frenetic spazz disco indie punk. With post hardcore noise, broken disco beats, triple vocals, and twisted, entwined guitar and keyboard lines they yelp their hearts out whilst spazzing out on stage.
This is essentially what happens when you put 4 energetic kids in a box, fill it with fizzy sweets and musical instruments then put it on top of a washing machine on fast spin.
"It’s the kind of music that makes you feel slightly uncomfortable- but completely intrigued... "
’a blaze of hypnotic beats and crusading vocals, The band are literally leaping over each other, scatter-gunning fiery disco-rock bullets across the room.’ Artrocker
"like a disco volcano, projecting highly flammable and devastating molten synth-rock lava..."
"A fearsome beast, this quartet’s career is shrieking and yelping along like a possessed banshee with a tumbling rhythm section that screams at every twist and turn and is saddled by some blissfully sharp guitar and keyboard grooves. They are the bastard love child of Test Icicles and The Blood Brothers"Artrocker
Alphabet Backwards
The project of 24 year old singer/songwriter James Hitchman, a bedroom musician from Oxford who proves that pop doesn’t have to be a dirty word. Mixing electronics and acoustic guitar to great effect, he strikes the perfect balance between instrumentation and vocals. Delicate, yet up beat his music is perhaps best described as something like The Postal Service meets Ben Folds.
James has recently assembled some friends together to form a band taking his songs to the stage but also performs solo with just his acoustic guitar.
’This guy is bloody brilliant and as for his music, sheer genius. He is definitely something special’ - roomthirteen.com
’only a major label PR machine short of turning Hitchman into a star’ - DailyInfo Oxford
’we think this guy is bloody brilliant.’ - Playmusic pickup
An Emergency
An Emergency are 3 piece from Exeter, Devon and play angular, riff heavy, arty disco punk rock in the vein of Hot Snakes or Q and Not U. They have previous releases on Captains of Industry and have just finished tours with Blood Red Shoes and Meet Me In St Louis having previously played shows with the likes of These Arms Are Snakes, The Bronx, Q And Not U, The Blood Brothers, Hell Is For Heroes, Gay For Johnny Depp.
"An Emergency are perhaps, the best band in Britain that you’re yet to hear" - Drowned in Sound
Breakneck Static
Breakneck Static are an Anglo-Japanese noise band based in London, these tracks featuring former vocalist Machiko calling to mind comparisons with the likes of Melt Banana and Deerhoof. Dischordant, jarring, anti-rock of the highest order they’ve been described by John Hannon of No! Studios as the bastard child of Melt Banana.

These releases have all pretty much been one off’s with the bands leaving me behind to go off and do amazing things elsewhere for someone else but the label is very proud to have been involved with such fine acts.
However, the aim is now to build on this and work with some great new bands to develop more long term relationships and with LOAD.CLICK.SHOOT!, Trouble Everyday and Alphabet Backwards now on board it’s a very exciting time for the label and brings a whole new era.
Influences
The mighty John Peel (RIP) for providing so much inspiration, being a true supporter of the underdog and an absolute legend! He was also the only DJ to play vacuous pop releases on the radio more than once!
Labels like Chemikal Underground, Creation, Fat Cat, Bella Union, Temporary Residence, Dischord, Slamdek, Gringo, Jonson Family and many more...
Festivals like ATP & Truck and everyone else keeping the spirit of the independents alive...

Demo Policy
vacuous pop welcomes demos and whilst we have eclectic taste there are limits...
Unfortunately there's already an Oasis, so there's no need for any bands to sound exactly the same is there? There's also already a Razorshite, Pete Doherty, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Jamiroquai etc, etc...
These, and bands that try to emulate them aren't really for us. Neither is funk, definitely no funk.
There is currently a large backlog of demos to work through, it does take time so please be patient if you've sent any in. If I like what I hear then I'll be in touch but am generally unable to provide feedback on your music or respond to messages due to the amount received.
