This is Everpure - music with bits and beats, heart and harmony, created somewhere between Denmark and Germany. It has been a long way from the acoustic guitar pop duo, via the indie rock quintet to the electronica duo, merging classic pop songs with synthesized grooves and melodies.
Back in the very old days - somewhat around late 1986 - all that music started with a New Romantic style synth pop band made of three young lads who called themselves Egypt Wonder. Two years later, Henry Heitmann went his own way, met Eggi, Marco, and Sven (of Philtron, SFor Crime, and The Promise fame) and formed the Screaming Fools to make some melancholic, slightly pathetic, but still enjoyable indie wave rock sound. The Fools played a lot of shows all around in Hamburg and managed to release a self-financed and self-produced 4-track EP called “Recent Moments in Life”. Their hit song “I Wonder” had even been on the play list at Hamburg’s famous music club Kaiserkeller. Sadly enough, the band split up around 1993, and nothing happened for almost a year, until Danielle Brockmann a.k.a. Mole came and joined with a couple of other guys the new all-indie-guitar-pop band Smell. That didn’t last too long either, but who cares? It was time for Everpure soon. In 1997 the story started, and it’s not over yet. In 2007, after some very creative and productive years, Mole went on to concentrate her own band Neptune’s Phase (which was already running as a side project for some time), and Henry continued exploring the world of electronic beats until…
Beritt started singing at high school, where she soon started a cover band. Later, during her time at Testrup academy, where she studied at the music line, she joined a pop-rock band. Eager to continue singing, Beritt joined a synth-rock band, but doing only backing vocals wasn’t really what she wanted. Her first steps into writing her own lyrics and vocals as a lead singer started in 2005 with the band Minor Mistake. They recorded a number of songs, but split quite soon, because they had different ideas and aims. After a longer break from singing at all, Beritt got the opportunity to record vocals on an electronic tune. That was very different from her earlier experiences, and hence, not too easy to find herself in this new sound. But the result was extremely satisfying, and convinced her that there could be whole new musical world out there.
After some time of searching for a band or other musicians, Beritt found an advertisement from Henry in January 2008, desperately looking for a new singer. She contacted him by e-mail, and now, more than one year and ten songs later, they are still creating new tunes.
