Vrtra, meaning the personification of chaos, recognizes mankind’s inherent need for change. Forming in mid- to late 2008, Vrtra began with Dom (guitars/back-up vocals) and Nick (Lead Vocals). Harnessing this need to change and the power to push the envelope, they began writing songs together that broke away from current trends and look alike/sound alike bands. Shortly after the rapid recording of Vrtra’s self titled EP, Bassist Cory and drummer David joined the band in an effort to get back into the music scene and combine their musical insight with the brutal onslaught that is Vrtra. After a long and arduous search, David (guitar) was brought in to complete the five piece ensemble of chaos. With influences ranging from Rush and Pink Floyd to Tool and A Perfect Circle all the way up to bands like Through the Eyes of the Dead, Lamb of God, Pantera, As I Lay Dying, and so on and so forth. It’s no wonder Vrtra has a sound that is as fresh as it is compelling. From Nick’s aggressive, in your face vocals and powerful, insightful, and sometimes down right vicious lyrics, to Dom and David's driving rhythms and brutal double leads (guaranteed to keep you picking your face up off the floor), to David’s (drums) intricate drum patterns and Cory’s booming, rhythmic bass, Vrtra will keep crowds moving and damn near breaking their necks to keep up with the auditory chaos and highly energetic live performance that is Vrtra. They are constantly evolving and working on new music, lining up shows, and recording to give their fans what they came for.
