| About Vicki Salz |
I grew up on the Fox River northwest of Chicago. I started playing guitar when I was 12 in 1992. My dad gave me my first guitar on my 13th birthday. I learned old Metalica songs like call of ktulu and some classic rock crap. I as I got older I started to make songs learning new chords, rhythms, and poetry. I was heavily influenced by Ani Difranco in high school. When I was 18 I moved to a suburb of Atlanta GA. My drunken neighbors insisted that I should get out and play this bar called Eddies Attic. They dragged my ass there and sat in the crowd cheering me on. Thanks guys where ever you are. I was very shy and very nervous back then. Next couple of years I put a few bands together, played a lot of shows, drank a lot of whiskey, had a lot of fun. I went solo again in 2002 and toured the midwest and southeast. I played New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Nashville, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Tampa, San Fran ect ect....Small venues, coffee shops, bars, house partys. I burned out, got married and quit music for a few years. got divorced, started music again.
