V.S.:"My life," (pause) what about my life?
Interviewer: Just tell me about you.
V.S.: Where should I start?
Interviewer: From the beginning.
V.S.: Ok, well, my real name is Vanoy J. Solomon, but you can call me V.S. (delivering with a smile) I am the middle child of five kids. I was raised by my mother and step pops in Milwaukee WI. I had a great childhood even though there were alot of struggles growing up on the north side of kilwaukee. We didn't have money but my moms always some how supplied us with the necessities.
Interviewer: So Vanoy (delivering with a smile) how did music become a part of your life?
V.S.: Well, music was always a part of my life because of mom and uncle. My mom always had music playing. We use to listen to Annte Baker, Witteny Houston, (before Bobby) Prince, Michael, ( before the kids). My favorites was Annte Baker and Freddie Jackson. I always loved soulful music. My uncle was and still is a wonderful singer, and he was the one who really started me on the road to recording, producing, and owning my own record label "Up North Records."
Interviewer: So was music the only thing you wanted to do, ever since a young boy.
V.S.: Naw! I played basketball, football, I was on the chess team in school, I was a student council member. I was a normal kid. Actually I didn't begin to rap until I was 16 or 17. I wanted to be a famous painter. I use to love to paint. I haven't touched a paint brush in at least 5 years.
Interviewer: What made you put down the paint brush and enticed you into embracing the mic?
V.S.: Money. After winning a few awards for my paintings and selling a few too, I remembering looking at the other painters art work and being amazed. like how did I win. These dudes was good, and I remember thinking to myself, "I can't paint that kind of painting." I mean theirs looked like photographs mines was more abstract. I just thought I could never out shine these kinds of painters. So I decided to focus on something else, and it just so happen music also came natural to me.
Interviewer: Well it was great talking to you, and I wish you all good blessings on your path to super stardom, but before we end this session is there something you would like to tell yours fans?
V.S.: I would like to say to all my supporters thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without fans and supporters none of this would be worth doing. My fans help me go on when the haters begin to sink their hateful fangs into my proud soul and have me second guessing thing that I know to be true. It always seem that when I'm at my lowest my fans are at their strongest, and when them haters seem to begin to have the upper hand. My supporters serge threw with their supportive words and loving comments. Which suppresses those haters advances from reaching my mind, body, and sprit. Which helps me maintain my love for music my love for performing and my love for creating songs. So thank you fans and supporters young or old, big or small, short or tall, I love you all. One.
