Months prior to Calvin Owens' death, Calvin had started work on covering hits recorded by Blues, Jazz & R&B artists. He had many special guest vocalists on this project which included Jesse Flores of Vudu Cafe. The 1st song Jesse sang was ''Funny'' which featured Calvin Owens, Bert Wills,Tyson Sheth Paul English and many more talented musicians.
The second one was ''Lose A Good Thing'' which is actually a duet with the original sing/songwriter of the song..... Barbara Lynn. This song features Calvin Owens, Kenny Cordray, Tyson Sheth,Paul English and many more talented musicians. The music was engineered by Calvin's & our very good friend Andy Bradley of Sugarhill Studios.

Vudu Café has become a rising force among the Chicano Rock movement.
Formed in 2000 by Jesse Flores, ”Vudu Café” the album was released. It was evident by the album sales and TV appearances that the music was getting rave reviews. This started the journey to incredible live shows.
In 2003, “Loco” was released. Vudu café was quickly compared to such greats as Los Lonely Boys, Santana & Los Lobos.
With the bands’ flawless vocals and searing musicianship, “Loco” received critical acclaim. This album quickly received radio airplay in California, Chicago, New York, North and South Carolina as well as Texas. Album sales soared at their live shows.
Both of these albums were written entirely in Spanish and Vudu Café still gained a large bilingual following. The band then realized that they were on to something. They started playing what came naturally and this brought about the new album, “Revelation”.
With audiences becoming more multi-cultural at every show, this bilingual album was a natural progression for the band.
Vudu Café, with the help of Michael Ramos (co-producer) in 2008, recorded the Chicano Rock album “Revelation”.
With the solid hit “Caroline”, the haunting grooves of “Entregalo”, and the soon to be
classic ballad “You’re an Angel to Me”, Vudu Café has taken bilingual to a whole new level.
