VulpesVulpes is distinguished by their simple melodies laden with an emotional tangle of vocals. Their sound is both classic and sexy, drawing on influences from traditional orchestras to modern indie music. Songs like “Guilty With Pleasure” exude a musical maturity reminiscent of 1960s soul, while other tracks, such as “An Awful AWOL” and “Bicycle” display lead singer Tanya Lam’s signature vocals over more playful backdrops.
Lam founded VulpesVulpes in the spring of 2008 and has since played gigs across the country, including shows at the Viper Room and the Derby. She fronts the project as lead singer and multi-instrumentalist and, when she isn’t playing intimate acoustic sets, is backed by an ever-changing band of talented musicians. Lam, a native of Long Island, NY, first began training as a pianist at age four, not picking up a guitar until high school. As she began to combine her love for poetry with her ability to play a variety of instruments, Lam quickly developed the sound that is now heard in her songwriting and recording for VulpesVulpes. The band draws comparisons to contemporaries such as Feist and Cat Power while retaining a uniqueness that stands out in today’s music scene.
VulpesVulpes is currently in the studio with Kenny Lienhardt working on their first album.

Le Gasp! You tell Cablevision to get on their game and bring you some internets! Oh and you need to tell me all the names to the tracks you played at the station cause saying "track 5 is awesome," for example, doesn't have the same punch as the actual name would. :)
PolkOut's alright. I think the quality's a lot better than it was three years back when I started, can't say I've rocked the internet silly quite yet, but hey, no one said it'd be easy.
hey. i wish i remembered you, but i was only there for about 2 years combined and that is even slightly blurry. not only do i dig your tunes, but i am seriously considering checking you out in the city on the 6th. your voice is beautiful, good luck with everything!
