A brutal 3-piece from Sydney, Australia, The Vultures were conceived by brothers Josh and Sam Pincock, in seditious communicaes between great grey buildings... but it was the labour of birth that ensued; a two year stretch of hell on rum, wine, sloth and feedback which fuelled an ever-evolving violent and abrasive, gut wrenching sound. Line ups and instrument swapping continued until Jan 2003 when The Vultures slopped onto the stage with the line up in sacred triangle formation. Toward the end of 2005 on the departure of bassist Amelia Reid, The Vultures took up Geoff Caesar (Blackbird, Kybershev) for the role, initiating a more resolute and powerful direction for the band.
Burdened with the crippling weight of dissonant instruments, apathy, fear of terrorism, and ancient curses, The Vultures have managed a reputation as one of the heaviest and most original acts in the Sydney underground scene. This show will be the first Australian east coast performance by The Amenta's
recently announced new lineup, with the addition of Cain Cressall on
vocals and Dan Quinlan on bass and one of the final shows before THE
AMENTA embark on a six week tour of North America with VADER, DECREPIT
BIRTH, AUGURY, WARBRINGER and SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOKALYPSE ACROSS THE
SKY.
In a world exclusive, both The Berzerker and The Amenta have set their co-headlining show in Sydney for Friday 30th January (at the GAELIC) as the date to shoot footage for a live DVD. To be professionally filmed and recorded, the footage for both acts will be used for separate DVD releases in 2010.
