| About vultures |
Vultures formed at the end of 1999 and kicked the habit 'till it kicked us in 2004. That was when some of us (me! me! but not only me...) decided that somethin' ain't working and damn the machine - Vultures isn't everyone's top priority. But until we got to this gloomy conclusion, we were ripping stages, fucking & expanding people's minds at the same time, and having loads of industrialized-sharp objects- fun hurting each other, physically, on stage.
**************************************************************
We self-released our self-titled EP on June 2002, celebrating this humble occasion with Rabies Caste (R.I.P). Our next release was a limited edition split 3" CDR with Finkelstein, released by Fact Records (R.I.P as well) in 2003. It consisted of two Vultures tracks, quite different from our usual "beat my head against the wall" chaotic industrial metal, and leaning towards more "Wendy, I'm not gonna hurt you, I'm just gonna bash your brains" kinda techno and experimental electronica (especially when we slashed, raped & mangled Nikka Costas' "(Out Here) On My Own"). We kept playing live and finally found someone to throw us the bone outside the narrow shores of Israel: MOMT in the U.K released our "first" official album on April 2004 titled "Great Discoveries & Plasma Ticks". It consisted of four original tracks by us (one of them was recorded live) and six more remixes, so I guess we can argue about it if it was our first studio album, yet it was a fine release and Nir did some amazing artwork...call it what you want, a'right?
**************************************************************
We truly believed that this release will "put us on the map", obviously, it didn't. We thought it would be a teaser before we will bombard the world with our next "first real studio only recorded album", but it never happened. We continued playing just about everywhere we could, and didn't find the time, nor the motivation, to start promoting this album, despite we were through recording it ages ago. Instead, we got frustrated, and when you feel lousy like that, you lose the ability to write new songs - you only chew, spit and vomit those you were beating the hell out of for years. we added Berman from Betzefer on drums - that was refreshing and encouraging - we had an overwhelming last great show with Whorecore (we didn't know back then that it's gonna be our last gig...) - but even a brilliant drummer like Berman could not save us from our selves and from these long-time decomposing relationship.
**************************************************************
We put down our weapons of self-destruction on December 4th 2004.
***
But now that we all have blood on our hands, we feel like digging in our past. We have an album we never released + more recordings that were never heard or that are now unavailable- Time for some more Vultures' Splendor.
***
For those who were wondering: The writing was always on the wall: You just never saw it, 'cause we wrote it too small.
