Sounds Like
Myself. I wish my sound had elements of Michelle NdegeOcello, Alain Caron, Victor Wooten, Tom Kennedy, Albert Hobson, Bernard Edwards, etc., However, I’m sure that elements of their influence sometimes come through in my playing.
Raised in Soweto, South Africa, Vuyani Wakaba discovered early in life his ability to hear and remember bass lines. Growing up, he picked out bass lines in popular songs while friends focused on lyrics. This was long before he became a bass player. Vuyani now works in Chicago as the bassist for blues legend and Delmark recording artist Eddie C. Campbell, and as a freelance bassist. Also, Vuyani periodically performs with his own fusion band around Chicago.

Vuyani, I take great pride in knowing that all of your hard work and perseverance is paying off. I've watched you grow from a student to an educated band leader (accomplishment!) I just want to thank you for your friendship and support over the last fifteen years. Albert...
