I love walking on beaches, feeling sand between my toes and surf spray on my skin, listening to ocean waves, watching the moon through palm fronds, swimming in my pool, turning my home into a haven from the big world outside, gardening, reading, resting, golliwogs, old books about the Yolngu in NorthEast Arnhemland, relationships, chocolate, coffee... AND my Four Fabulous Kids!!!!!
Music
Last year I was right up the front to see Elton in Darwin this yeare; my first big concert since Dire Straits in 1986!!!!
And then this year I saw Paul Kelly live at Wrest Point in March. Not long till Darwin Festival Time now! Great to get to see new artists.
WOOHOO!
Much to my own surprise, I got inspired by Austrlian female country and blues singers, particularly the ones I've seen live in Darwin over the last two festival seasons: Mia Dyson,Anne McCue and strong woman lyrics woman Beccy Cole. India Arie, Corrinne Bailey Rae and quirky local Kate Miller-Heidke are out and the CD stack in the little blue Zoom Zoom is currently playing P!nk So What, and Christina Aguilira singing Keeps Getting Better.
But when my friends Diz and David found out I was listening to country they sent me 18 (!) CDs of alternative choices...just to expand my consciousness.
When I am doing housework I crank up the PubRock, and Daddy Cool's Eagle Rock is my all time favourite of all
But when it is late at night...I'm chillin' with the grown up music and I'll be listening to Luther Vandross or Keith Sweat...mmmmmnh! Or just playlists of songs that reflect where I am at different points in life.
The first movie I saw at the cinema was Sound of Music with my Dad.
AND I TOOK MY KIDS TO SEE THE LIVE SHOW!!!
I still love romance, but wish big love didn't have to be quite that hard or painful or apparently impossible in real life or in films. After The Notebook, I cried, and cried, and cried.I found strong arms to hold me, but those were only temporary. I prefer happy endings, however impractical that is...and I get too stressed by horror and murder mysteries to actually watch them. In fact I rarely sit down for long enough to watch a movie, but I really enjoy a good movie if I actually do make the effort.
As part of an infatuation for men with *haircuts* like Bruce Willis, I developed a fondness for Die Hard IV.
But for April, my obsession is a return to Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Toucha toucha Touch ME!
Television
MySpace is way more fun than TV...when I try and communicate with the people on my MySpace screen I often get a response!
...that never happens with TV!

Mourn the demise of the Bulletin over brekky out on the verandah to check what's happened in the world before the next issue arrives. Crikey on-line so I keep questioning, and know what questions to ask.
Reading about Bhuddism to see whether focussing on the NOW will help me let go of the past and stop stressing about the future. Bhuddhism for Mother and the Personal Efficiency Program to Stop Your Work World from Overwhelming You are on the bedside lamp right now.
After working in remote indigenous communities (Numbulwar and Galiwinku) over the last ten years I have been collecting older books about early contact experiences between Yolngu and Balanda in NorthEast Arnhemland.

Heroes
Generous people who have survived what life dishes them, and are willing to share the wisdom they have earned remain my everyday heroes...

Hey, Life is Short!
Make it Count!
Reconnecting to what is authentic for me and looking at life's possibilities. I feel like I'm back in touch with ME again!
I need to dance on my toes, and run in the wind, wish on a star, and listen to the secrets the ocean waves are whispering. Oh...and I could go a double helping of Blue Sky Love -the sort that sets you free and allows you to breathe again!
Who I'd like to meet:
For many moons after the world I had known ended, I was a Wombat, sleeping and hiding in my burrow...and some days I still need to be...
Now I've started to enjoy my new life, but there have been setbacks along the journey, as I learn from people who are ALIVE in their own lives. There is room on my friends' list to connect with more positive and optimistic and inspiring humans.
Some amazing, strong women and men have supported me on my life journey...especially up the steep hills with the windy paths. Thankx so much!!!...but I am open to meeting more people...especially now that I've started to reimage myself.
Way back at the beginning of 2006 there was a major change in life circumstances for me. I assumed the world had ended...but with the help of some unexpected connections (Would you believe a multi-tasking mother could meet an Arabian prince, a trusty knnight, a retired elite world-champion paraplegic taxi driver or a pirate catcher in her regular daily life?) I have expanded my expectations. Being inspired by what these people have achieved and overcome in their own lives has stretched my understanding of what is possible, what's just fantasy, and how fantasy and reality can be aligned somewhere in a warp in the space time continuum.
I've started to take a risk or two and tested that the gaps between reality and fantasy. Finding something true in myself?
Right now, wise and patient friends have helped me get through the tuff stuff and come out smiling ...to come out of the chrysalis, stretch my wings a little...so that I'm almost ready to FLY!
G'day Wendy. i hope the sun is shining down on your little patch of ground not far from the back door and is giving you that feeling that life is definitely worth living. All the best.
G'day Wendy. i hope you and your family are sparking on all four cylinders..or is it eight these days. Anyway, best wishes to you up in the far north...
