"Waberi - The Blues, The Muse, The Brilliant & Loosed
Waberi. Wa Beri - Starah Far I. A Giant? A Saint? A Diva? Simply - WABERI is the direct projection of the DIVINE MUSE.
The greatest (supposed) trouble of the Internet is that we (purportedly) can't really know the other person well enough... Well, true or not - I would like to let Y'ALL know who Waberi is for me:
* Waberi's music is ONLINE, FREE OF CHARGE. Don't be lazy - LISTEN; EXPERIENCE; TUNE IN AND UNTO THE SUPREME MUSE. Listen and thou shall KNOW; though shall REALIZE. Thou shall AWAKE!
Waberi is ENLIGHTENMENT MUSIC
Waberi is A Strange Fruit
Waberi is THE VESSEL
Waberi is On Top Of The World
Waberi is A Better Tomorrow
Waberi is DELIGHT
Waberi is Something Lovely
Waberi is Unspoken Love
Waberi is An Open Door
Waberi is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SUNFLOWER
Waberi is THE SUN KING
Waberi is LOVE; Waberi is LIFE.
In the end, she remains - all alone - in front of/with GOD. The backup musicians/music may be the best or the worst - you know what? It doesn't really matter at all... When Waberi VIBRATES, YOU FORGET WHO YOU ARE. The SICK & ILL find their REMEDY within HER VOICE. The dead AROUSE and RISE above to LISTEN! The poor forget how POOR they are - and become the richest. The molested souls FORGIVE & RECOVER through her HEALING MUSE. The forgotten FORGET and all of a sudden - are REDISCOVERED. All jazz-artists-giants-luminaries wake up from their ETERNAL SLEEP to ABSORB & APPLAUD. They humbly bow in front of Waberi, for SHE IS JAZZ. SHE IS THE BLUES. Her life is THE JAZZ and her CRY OUT is THE BLUES.
Humanity has become so cold and decayed that nobody may understand & appreciate her in this lifetime, but she will forever remain THE MUSE; THE LIGHTHOUSE for all of us who genuinely suffer, all of us who are in profound pain; all of us who desperately seek the DIVINE MOTHER.
Her womb is our asylum; her vessel is our shelter. Waberi is MUSIC; each and every part of her is an infinitely reverberated sound in the vast interplanetary cosmos.
"I began singing.. must have been while I was learning to talk, because I don't remember a time when I did not sing. Music and singing is a constant companion to all the memories I have."
A new voice emerges as an ‘Old Soul’ in the evolving world of today’s jazz and cross-genre music. Waberi takes center stage with her transcendent voice and intimate songcraft as the promise of a continued grand jazz music legacy. Waberi’s voice resonates in an alter-reality... beautiful; a haunted timbre; that has many likening her to Nina Simone, Abbey Lincoln or early Cassandra Wilson. But the comparison is not solely in the sound of her voice, but the legacy she embodies. Born in Washington D.C., and raised in the last great jazz enclave in Los Angeles, Leimert Park, Waberi has studied and/or played with Pharoah Sanders, Azar Lawrence, Big Black, Nate Morgan, and Bennie Maupin among some; The Great Voice of UGMAA (Union of God's Musicians and Artists' Ascension) with world-renown avant-garde pianist Horace Tapscott - and The GREAT Billy Higgins.
Calling on the lessons from growing up with a deep love for Black music, consistent study and application of music and its mechanics, and a deep understanding of Ancestral legacy and obligation, Waberi is dedicated to upholding a standard of artistry that serves to UPLIFT, ENLIGHTEN and most of all EVOLVE Black music. "To help do for Black Music what Jazz did for America."
"...you strive on two levels - you sing of war and warfare and you are at
war... with elements unseen and unheard - your only measure is the
pleasure you take in witnessing with your voice your heart and your
art. Simple." -Jimmy Rage

Hello, It's always a pleasure to contact my friends, first thanks for your friendship and hope all is well. if you have time, there are some new videos on my page. Life is beautiful. All the best - Pat.
Beri, I am so delighted to hear of you reconnecting with your sister! That's truly beautiful. Personally, I am taking a big step. I'm planning to move from Texas next year. Graduate school, New York, or Los Angeles. I don't know exactly where the road is leading but I can FEEL The wheels ready to turn. I wake up with my show in my gut! New music, sounds, feelings ready to explode. I'm feeling a need to surround myself with kindred spirits. I love my family and friends but MORE is all I can understand right now. So, crossroads led by the angels is taking me somewhere. I can feel it!
How are you my friend? How is Columbia????!!!! I'm so proud of that. I hope all is well with you and your daughter. I'm working on some new material that i feel in my GUT. I can't wait to record it. How is your music treating you? Millie
Do not be discouraged because of the rain.....u know what happens next ~ always the Rainbow and the bright colored Flowers that will follow......never lose HoPe!
WE are all rare gems ~ all polished in our own very way due to time and the Seas we've endured ~ all uniquely shaped, indeed ~ we all possess special Gifts to offer one another ~ Let us rejoice today and always Shine with each given day! ~ Doreen
“When you choose to respond to life’s difficulties with compassion and love instead of fear and doubt, you create a “Heaven on earth.” ~ Diane Ackerman
Right now, Aquarius women are my oxygen. That and the fact that I am you. We are all one. I got on the bus today so hurt and I kept looking at everything and everyone.. saying to them (silently but energetically) I am you. I am you. We are one. Than I tried to connect with every woman I could think of to see if they need any help. Do you? www is a great way to communicate too! Peace, Big Hugs Universal.
Fats...if this was a word association game, I'd say 'Stormy Weather', and the thread would run through Lena Horne standing tall, proud, and pretty, holding back the hands of time like a smile on Leornado's canvase, Cab Calloway jumpin' jive, gettin' up on the down beat, and ooh la, la on the way to see what's happenin' in Emerald City, and find out where Bojangles at. He'd be like, "would you care to dance?" And while your getting down with Bill Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers, you'd hear that jovial voice breaking xenophobic ice before sun down...AIN't MiSbeHaViN, nah i'm just playing. That whole era of black artistry brings to mind, Poliachi, the central character of Smokey's 'tears of a clown'. Tragedy tempered by triumph in the face of predestined adversity. "Life is parallel to hell", so said the young Nas, but I prefer to drink out of the half full glass. Today we have the 21st century minstrel show on every popular medium that claims to be the voice of this generation, but corporate minds have yet to make love, downloadable, so I'll hold on to my soul, and leave the rest to the tax collector (autograph hunters flip a coin, the new spin is an idol worshipper). One can only wonder what fiction would the exiled Chester Himes or James Baldwin or Ralph Ellison be compelled to write, if they were alive today? Still hope remains, just enough to believe, and that is more than one could reasonably hope for...cause we ain't at the cotton club and the only chitlin circuit still running shows is on the stage in your head. The mind is a ghetto, or if you so desire, its a 50 storey high penthouse overlooking the water front. The dead don't need your prayers, its the living that cry for mercy when they find that the glory of man ain't all its cracked up to be, in a hurting world of walking wounded.
blessed love mi sista it is di same for me buzy but after di beginning of september more free, so let di beginning of di school came and after di duet will come and di music too, nuffff love nuffff blessings
There you are, Waberi. I only been looking for you with my five senses for atleast my whole life. AND I almost passed up your quick greet after an update on this here myspace thing! Ok, Aquarius, how do we go about becoming best friends? hehehe:)) I mean it, but it sounds funny. :-p off to siesta... reading a good book, making major changes, following intuition a bit instead of trying to over ride these truths, opening up, learning, fasting, cleansing, falling back, waking up, falling off the spiritual growth wagon, running and jumping back on.. you know the deal. The journey. Present for it. Today I feel better than I did this morning because I woke up and said what was uncomfortable to me, plus the music from Hawaii helps a great deal. What are you doing today? Do you write with pen and paper or on the computer when you manifest verse?!! Big Respect Aquarius. You are so beautiful. Claro!!! Clearly
