Waffle has never been accused of having tunes that all sound the same. In fact, they take enormous pride in being able to pound out their own brand of vocally hook laden and guitar oriented rock without having tunnel vision.
Waffle is Travis Ray (Drums), Curtis L. Ray (Guitar), Brian Hart (Guitar), Will Shorter Jr. (Bass) and Mark Wilkinson (Vocals). Since their inception, this group has clicked vocally, musically and personally...giving it that key ingredient which is clearly identified in their songs and especially in their live show.
The band has toured extensively in the Oklahoma/Texas region and has released one album and an EP. Waffles first release was their independent fourteen track, self-titled debut, "Waffle". That album produced the regional hit "Wildflower", garnering radio airplay on several rock radio stations throughout the Southwestern United States.
"Waffle" was followed up by their four track EP, "Daisy Chain." Two tracks from Daisy Chain were selected to appear on various nationally distributed compilation CDs. However, the band took a self-imposed two-year break the year after the release of Daisy Chain, but reunited in 2004 with their original lineup and their sights on recording a new album and playing a more regional circuit than they had done previously.
Currently, Waffle has been putting the finishing touches on recording and producing their brand new album titled Stimulus." It is slated for release later this year on the independent label, Earshot Records. In advance of the release, the band has been playing numerous shows throughout the Southwest.
Waffle has opened for a multitude of top national and regional acts including Kid Rock, Tonic, Sloth, Slobberbone, Bob Schneider, Seven Mary Three, Candlebox, Big Wreck, Econoline Crush, Stabbing Westward, Mayfield Four, Local H, Soak, Monster Magnet, and more.
