A little more about the 'personnel' side of things.
The Waggon Open Mic has a floating 'membership' - old hands from the Waggon days gone by and new faces too.
I aim to get a balance between enthusiastic amateurs and some of the local professional players.
I really do think the local events should co-exist as one 'happy family' ideally. Remove the competitive element between events if possible...different people each time is healthy. Just as I would love to have along talented players I see at one event, I happily recommend people to try other events I frequent.
The Waggon Open Mic is about the performers, I try hard to get the best people I can along to each event as I would like each night to be special in its own way. They have been so far, and I hope that may continue.

The Waggon Open Mic is on every Wednesday starting from 8.30 onwards.
It features performers - amateur, semi professional or professional, old or new faces to the event - getting together to create a great evening of music!
Anyone and everyone is welcome, whether playing covers or their own songs.
Each week most of the night is recorded and if the performer is happy for us to do it, original songs can be put on the web for all to hear.

Hey what an amazing night last week!! Wow! Am gutted I have a meeting next weds in Devon.....will be done by five am sure, but goodness knows what time i will be back! You never know....am passing on my way home so if its in time will pop my head around the door....prob with v v sleepy eyes! x
heard ya pulled off a corker last night mate, chuffed for ya, well done. you know i would of been there if i could but im commited to kelly on a wed now!!! gonna have to try sort something for the next one as i miss the old faces, will see you tonight jez man.
The Waggon is the Grand Daddy of all open Mics. It's where it all started for alot of people currently on the circuit. I will always have time for this venue.
