The Wagner Free Institute of Science was founded in 1855 by William Wagner to provide free science education for the people of Philadelphia. The Institute is truly a "museum of a museum" as it houses a natural history collection that is virtually unchanged in its arrangement since 1891.
The Wagner Institute is located at 1700 W. Montgomery Avenue in North Philadelphia. There is plenty of free street parking and we are easily reachable by SEPTA bus and subway lines.
