ANNIE CRANE:
Crane pays homage to Celtic-folk stylings and the prolific singer-songwriters of the 1960s such as Paul Simon and Joan Baez. “Local Annie Crane plays fabulous folk with enough thoughtful twang to transport you back in time…and down South.” -TIME OUT NY:5/20/2009 (www.anniecranemusic.com or www.myspace.com/anniecrane)
ELIZABETH DEVLIN:
Devlin invokes influences from scratchy American phonograph, combining bitter-sweet, haunting vocals with angelic, cacophonous Autoharp melodies. (www.allarerelative.com or www.myspace.com/elizabethdevlin)
MR. RICK PATRICK (HOST for WAGSTOCK 09'):
Fully aware of his enlightenment by the age of four, Mr. Patrick has ever since been turning the cornerstone of humanity towards truth. Working twenty years in silence, communicating only through his painting and gardening (and a few miracles), he has nurtured the nature of being, for all. An advisor to world leaders, sought out by the spiritually honest, disparaged by the rest, he now speaks to the greater good through truth-based storytelling. CHARLES LATHAM:
Charles Latham wields an acid tongue and a poison pen, crafting social criticism and brutal self-analysis into three and half minute ramshackle pop songs. (www.myspace.com/sircharleslatham)

Byerley is a songwriter currently living in Brooklyn, New York . His first album, the morosely meditative “Hymns and Fragments”, was released in the fall of 2006 on Cherry Ball records. THE HAVENS:
"Freak folk, neo-folk, folk-rock—what ever happened straight-up folk, minus the hybrids and hyphens? You’ll find a heartening answer on “Devil Days,” the debut album by The Havens, a Brooklyn-based quartet whose original songs aren’t willowy journal entries set to finger-picked chords but true-blue slabs of old-time Americana, performed with an unabashedly twangy string-band sound that owes as much to the Weavers’ pristine harmonizing as to the Carter Family’s rough-hewn country warbling. Lest you find yourself lulled into nostalgia by this all-female group’s dulcet vocals and warm, bright acoustic sound, the lyrics will keep you on your toes." -The Havens: Devil Days - Review by Zubin Soleimany (www.myspace.com/thehavensbrooklyn)
DANIEL BERNSTEIN:
"I'm an older dude with lots of love to give. I currently reside in Ridgewood, Queens.
Ridgewood is the hometown of James Cagney and the final resting place of Harry Houdini. I was raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fayetteville is the home of the 82nd Airborne Division and they have some damn fine flea markets. My hobbies include nugget puffing, BBQ, and cable television. I scower the streets of Gotham, scrounging for cash. On weekends and holidays I moonlight as an appreciated musician, with dignity and self-respect. Maybe schizophrenia. Maybe just bi-polar disorder w/ psychotic tendencies. It helps to be lucid when diagnosis is presented." -Dan on Dan

PHOEBE KREUTZ:
"Phoebe Kreutz's chanteusey delivery and comic writing are genuinely funny." -THE NEW YORK TIMES..."Musically, her simple song structures are lifted to near-genius level by her clear, bright vocals and vivid personality...as melancholy as they are witty." -SANDMAN (U.K.) (www.myspace.com/phoebekreutz)
KYLE AVALLONE:
Kyle Avallone dilutes dulcet Cash vocal timber with the melodic and lyrical qualities, of a young mischievous Leonard Cohen. (myspace.com/kyleavallone)
CHLOE PHILIP:
"Great comedy, trying to write some myself, doing stand up in and around NY." -Chloe on Chloe (www.myspace.com/chloephilip)
Influences
Picnics, ants, watermelon and red checkered blankets...!
“It will be more like a picnic than a show,” says Devlin.
Sounds Like
"Crane's sound is a mild Celtic folk found on Shanachie releases and 60s forebears like Joan Baez. Devlin, another Mick, delves into the world of Old Timey sounds, playing an ancient autoharp over a voice that crackles and spits like a forgotten 78."
Annie Crane & Elizabeth Devlin Play Make Music NY 2009 Sunday, June 21, NOON – 9:00pm, Humboldt Plaza, Central Park West, NYC!
ITS OUR THIRD YEAR!
Singer songwriters Annie Crane and Elizabeth Devlin are at it again in 2009. After last year's success at "Humble Plaza" (Humboldt Plaza, CPW), Crane and Devlin are organizing another music-filled acoustic Sunday. "Wagstock", as it was appropriately dubbed in 2007 when the initial gathering took place in Wagners Cove, is an annual acoustic celebration comprised of a stellar line-up of folk, rock, singer-songwriter and blues performers.
This event is in association with Make Music New York. Make Music is an international free music event which takes place every year in 300 cities all over the world. Originating 25 years ago in France, this is the second year New York City will be involved.
Wagstock is free for all! Bring blankets, pets, brew, snacks and snuggle up on the grass with your sweetie pie.
