Wailing Miserere is the musical alias of Lucy Hague. Lucy is originally from Orkney, Scotland, where she began writing and recording in 2001, but she currently lives in Edinburgh. Her music draws inspiration from a wide range of styles, from folk to jazz to progressive rock. She plays a number of instruments, including piano, guitar, mandolin and tin whistle.
To date most of her music has been played and recorded solo, however other musicians have performed with her live and on record, including Tom Pickles (flute) and Paul Reynolds (mandolin).
In 2008, Lucy was selected to arrange and perform two of her songs with the acclaimed ensemble Music At The Brewhouse at Orkney’s midsummer St Magnus Festival, and she performed solo at Ceilidh Culture 2008 in Edinburgh. A debut EP is planned for the near future.
Lucy is also a member of the Edinburgh-based folk rock group Jacob’s Pillow
