    Waiting for Haeger's Interests
GeneralBruce "Rules" and Helen "HP Kool Hype" have been co-hosting the popular (why??) Waiting for Haeger radio show on WHUS on and off (mostly off) for over a decade. They disappear, then get restless and feel the fm radio waves tugging at them again. Bruce calls Helen and asks the immortal question: "Wanna do a radio show?" Helen, who is known for 1) doing things she regrets and 2) annoying the hell out of Bruce, always says yes. Now that WHUS is all digital and super-duper high tech, you can hear WFH from anywhere in the world---go here: WHUS.org and go to the "LISTEN NOW" link. WHUS, the Beast of the East, is located at the University of Connecticut in Storrs---91.7 on the fm dial. They just relocated to their new studio in the Student Union, and boy is it snazzy and wicked. The new studio doesn't smell like stale beer, failed deodorant and urine yet, but give it a few more months and few more sleep deprived DJs working the overnight shift. Gone also are the naugahyde couches with cigarette burns in them. The walls with the sordid stories may be gone, but new stories are being told every day in that new studio. Time marches on. And maybe there are some brand new CD shelves just dying for "BRUCE RULES" to be written all over them. And maybe, just maybe, there will be carpeting on the walls. One thing is for sure: because Bruce and Helen largely ignore their levels and frequently go into the red, WFH is sure to piss off any micro-managing Chief Engineer! One can only hope, anyway. WFH knows a dirty little secret: our levels are protected by the Motherboard so we don't sound distorted when we go on the air. We just sound loud. And annoying. TURN IT UP, MAN!

   Waiting for Haeger's Blurbs
About me:
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO LISTENED TO US THIS SUMMER> WE MAY BE BACK--SOME YEAR---SOME TIME---but for now enjoy our podcasts of all the shows: Waiting for Haeger Podcasts Bruce and Helen, two WHUS old timers (Bruce joined WHUS in 1983 and Helen joined in 1987), dust off the radio cobwebs YET AGAIN to return to the airwaves for summer, 2008. Listen to us Fridays, 1-3pm on WHUS, Storrs, Connecticut, USA--all summer long. Time for tired anecdotes, punk, funk, scratchy vinyl, pockets of dead air, forehead slapping, 80s music, three Ramones songs in a row, Roger C. Reale, outdated jokes, profound observations and general who-knows-what-the-fuck else. Maybe Haeger will show up. Maybe you'll say, "why did they give these two tiresome nimnods a radio show AGAIN?" Why indeed!! These two old farts have decided to come out of their radio retirement to encourage you to smoke crack and worship "Stan." That's Satan with an "A" missing, dipshit. It's all Bruce's fault. Bruce "Rules": 1987: Got listeners to "pledge their support" to his afternoon rock show by promising he'd quit smoking if he reached his goal. Well, he raised a shitload of money and surpassed his goal! Did he quit smoking? For a whole day and a half! He rules! Helen "HP Kool Hype": Once received a fan letter from a transvestite! Listen to WHUS 91.7 fm, Storrs, Connecticut, USA on the world wide interweb thingy! GO HERE! NOW! whus.org   dont make me tell you about Star Crash. Back in the saddle!!!! Cheryl models the new WFH slogan. this is what ya get when you give a coupla nimnods 5,000 watts of radio power.
Who I'd like to meet:
Bruce probably wants to meet Herman Melville or Tolkien. Well, they're dead. So tough luck, there. Helen wants to meet Ivanka Trump and K-Fed. Why not?
