Waiting For Never is a Metalcore band hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania that formed in early 2003. The band is fronted by Eric “Ekak” Smith who brings the in your face, raw, powerful vocals and moving lyrics that gives hope to anyone who hears them. On guitar is Justin “Hotsy” Dombkowski who lays down the riffs with powerful grooves while at keeping the melody at the heart of each song along with 2nd guitarist Dale Davison, who is also at the same time backing up the vocals. The intense yet flavorful drumming , which is an amazing sight to witness live, is brought by Tory Shatto while at the same time singing the uplifting vocals that have become “a must” in the W4N formula. Rounding out this 5-piece is Nick “Spi” Menist who brings the rib-shattering low end on bass. It won’t take you long to see why this band that is making waves in the metal scene.

In April of 2004, after a year of non-stop shows… W4N joined the Jagermusic family and since then has participitated in several Jagermeister Music Tours as opening support for some of the biggest acts around. A sponsorship with Coffin Case and Suicidal Clothing soon followed.

In 2006, while in the process of writing for their official debut album they were featured in June’s issue of Volume Magazine. Months later W4N recorded their debut Self Titled album at Diecaster Studios in Erie, PA with producer and engineer Trevor Huster. This album hailed their most groundbreaking song to date “On My Own”. It featured Tory singing the melodic/uplifiting chorus and ever changed the sound that is Waiting For Never. “On My Own” was also featured on the Jagermusic 2007 Compilation CD which was distributed nationwide. This opportunity gained W4N the exposure they needed and later that year in August they were nominated and was successful in winning the title “Favorite Metal Band” in Erie at the 2007 RockErie Music Awards.

In 2009, after months of downtime and yet another line up change, W4N returned to the scene stronger than ever to again pummel audiences and spread the message in their own way of today’s current events involving life, religion, and even politics. At the beginning stages of their return in April they succeeded at winning the 8th Annual Rolling Rock Battle of the Bands. In September after more endorsements by SIT Strings and Rolling Rock, they were successful once again being nominated at the 2009 RockErie Music Awards and winning the title “Favorite Hardcore/Metal Band”. With new songs written like “Choose Your Sides”, “I Can’t Keep From Falling” as well as the most hard hitting and mature song written to date “I Am One” Waiting For Never continues to be the band to watch out for.
