As we approach the end of the third week of transition, we are still seeing problems with the transition to the new fiscal agent, EDS. Here is a synopsis of the issues as we know them now.
1. EDS Call Center: There are still delays in getting through to the EDS call center, but some providers are getting through. They are still in the process of adding additional lines and specialists, and have extended their hours of operation.
2. 4127 Error - This is the error code that relates to Medicaid "Benefit Plans". EDS is aware of the problem, and is working on a fix. We have no official verification of the date this will be fixed in production, but when that occurs, all those claims will be reprocessed. We hope that will be for next week's pay cycle.
3. 3053 error - This is a Gatekeeper error and is related to the Prior Authorization (PA) number that EDS is putting on all the Gatekeeper records. There has been a problem with the interface between APD and EDS that has caused a large number of these errors. This is in process of being fixed, and will hopefully be resolved by next week. Remember, some of these errors are caused by the service authorization not being approved so check that first when a provider gets that error.
4. 1050 Error - This one started showing today. The description is "service not referred by primary casemanager". We have reported it and EDS is researching to see if they can determine what is the problem.
5. Payments not being posted to accounts: We have several providers who report that although the system shows a payment, they are not posting to accounts. This appears to be mostly a timing issue. I am trying to get an idea from EDS as to when the payments will post, Thursday or Friday.
6. Emergency Payments: If a provider is in a dire financial situation that will result in closure or staff layoffs that will impact the health an
