Wakefield Drive is a three piece from Langley B.C. The band consists of Michael Mori (Guitar/Vocals), and the brothers, Eric Banerd (Drums/Vocals) and Russel Banerd (Bass/Vocals). Since 2005 the band has been jamming and writing songs from their home base on Wakefield Drive, the street they all grew up on. The trio is a tight knit group who has grown up together and has become musicians together. After playing countless venues in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland they have made a name for them selves in the local music scene as a strong live act. They’ve shared the stage with Wide Mouth Mason, Thornley, Helix and many other great bands. These guys truly love music and enjoy the rigorous and tough dedication it takes to create great music. Their debut album will be released this summer, and they are excited to finally have an Album that is truly accurate to their musical abilities. The Album is being recorded at JMP Studio’s (Hot Hot Heat, Wide Mouth Mason, Incura and many others) with Jay (Juice) Evjen. It is tough to put their music into a genre, as the band strives to write songs that are unique and different from each other. They aren’t going for a specific sound, nor look for that matter. They’re simply being themselves and playing music they love. They play shows, the audience listens. They don’t demand attention; they earn it with their music.
