About Wakefield Jazz

wakefieldjazz is the best club in Wakefield, run by people who are passionate about great music. The club has an intimate atmosphere where musicians enjoy playing to an open-minded crowd that are into music. People keep telling us that we are one of the best jazz clubs in the UK (Martin Drew suggested "... in the world") wakefieldjazz majors in musicians and groups who bring something fresh, inspire, move and groove. Young starters on the jazz scene sometimes do a support set before the main band too.. There are gigs on most Fridays - check it out.

Chris	May 8 2008 12:28 PM Gorgeous Georgia (see slide show) turned out to be dynamite. A charmer who won the audience's hearts, a real jazz singer who improvised and a personality to melt a nugget. The band gave outstanding support and Gareth shone.
Andy	May 6 2008 8:15 PM "Protect the Beat" were awesome the other week. It was like the best of Bootsy Collins and the Brand new Heavies going beyond the songs. There's nothing better than musicians with a funk sensibility being freed up to let rip and improvise. More nights like this at WakefieldJazz please!
