Wakefield Music Collective's Blurbs

About me:

The Music Collective are a bunch of like minded individuals from all walks of life, covering all tastes in music, who came together back in 1991 to put together a free outdoor gig for the communities of Wakefield. Now in it's 16th year, this gig has grown to become a fully flegded 2 day music festival featuring 2 stages, 20+ bands, a beer tent, market stalls, street theatre and more! The Collective is open to anyone to join... we're always in need of new members to assist in the organising & running of the Clarence Park Music Festival, staffing of the Pontefract Liquorice Festival, and anything else that falls into our laps to take care of. We meet fortnightly in a local bar (the cheapest in town as it goes!), and currently consist of 10 members. Some of us are musicians, some aren't. Some are techies and ex-sound industry folks, some aren't. All you need to join is a willingness to contibute towards sharing the workload...

Clarence Park is not our festival... it's YOUR festival. It takes 6 months to organise, and 4 days to run and we cannot do it without the support of the local music community (that's you by the way!)

Many of these positions have training available, and provide valuable experience for work within the Music Industry. It's also a fun way of actively working voluntarily within your local community.

It'll be £20 for travel down on the coach which will arive in london at 1 in the afternoon so u get until 6:30 ish to do watever u like in London. the 20 quid covers ur entry into the gig and travel back too. all for just £20! Kerrang are going to be there and it's a Mean Fiddler venue (same people who do LeedsFest) so it should be good gig. theres us KO KAINE and INAMBER playin and also a london band called KING LIZARD. If you fancy going just let me know as soon as please. Cheers

This will be an 8 band bill the best band on the night will be supporting Sepultura.Let me put that again. best band on the night will support sepultura. this is where we need your help. everyone in the crowd will be able to vote for who they think is best, so basically the more of you that come the better chance we have. all votes will be counted the on the night. rio's will also be giving away 2 pairs of tickets to the sepultura gig all you have to do is put your name at the top of the voting sheet. the tickets are 4 quid and available off the rio's site which is www.rios-leeds.com and you can prob pay on the door. please come and support us as it could be the break we need to get us on our way to bigger things. let us know if ur coming cheers Theory 1
