Influences
Very many bands influence us all in different ways, but the ones that have the most bearing on our sound are people like Fall Out Boy, Allister, Bad Religion, Less Than Jake, Green Day, et cetera.
Sounds Like
The songs playing in that little box in the top right.
The seeds of Wake Up Call were sown back in early 2005, when James and Rik, then living together, realised that the obvious progression from playing along to records together was to form a band and start playing some of their own tunes. Things took a while to get moving, with a few practices with drummer Mike. However, it was Mike's departure and the recruitment of Will that really kicked things off for the band. After a few personnel changes and a couple of gigs, it looked like the line-up was going to settle with the trio of Will, Rik and James, with the latter two sharing vocal duties. However, Dave saw the band at a house party, asked to join as lead vocalist, and the rest is history. The months since have seen the band appear at Battle of the Bands and continue to produce new songs, while maintaining a consistently entertaining and energetic stage presence. Wake Up Call's first recording has been finished recently, and is likely to precede a series of live performances in the York area.

You like The Fall non? You Like The Birthday Party Oui? Then try "A progressive Victorian cacophony of emotionally-dead intellectuals and dehumanized industrial workers" - D.H. Lawrence On Idiot Savant
Pollitt, at the moment you get jack-all comission, as I believe our total earnings from the band so far amount to Lee from The Moguls giving me a can of lager.
However, if you continue taking kick-ass photos, maybe we can give you some vodka money.
