ABOUT "WAKE UP - STOP CHILD ABUSE"

"Prevention Campaign". A documentation on how drugs and alcohol will cause significant harm to your body and teeth. It's the true story of Ralph Jones who lived the illusion that drugs and alcohol would help him to forget the horror of his childhood and solve his problems.

“WAKE UP - STOP CHILD ABUSE” REGISTERED CHARITY!

Since the 7th March, 2008, Wake Up - Stop Child Abuse is a officially registered charity in Switzerland.
Wake Up – Stop Child Abuse has been entered into the Commercial Register of the City of Basle as Registered Charity Number:
CH-270.6.000.602-6

Although physically Wake Up - Stop Child Abuse is based in basle, Switzerland, child abuse is happening all over the world and so we will always continue to operate with an international view aimed at ending Child Abuse everywhere.
We in the Wake Up Team believe that we all have to join together, linking hands around this world, to eradicate this terrible crime once and for all!!!

THE PROJECTS!

MUSIC:

Up to date we have recorded “Our Children“, “Don't Beat On Me“, “I'm Losing My Family“, “You're Not King Of This World“ and our theme song, “Wake Up“.
We have recorded those songs together with children, teenagers and young musicians and there's more to come soon!

SHORT FILMS:

“Wake Up - Stop Child Abuse” plans to make two short films which will demonstrate the horror of child abuse.
The first film will show the history of two boys experiences with physical and sexual force/abuse and as their further development proceeds untill them as young men again one on top of the other meets with a dramatic ending.
The most important message in this film is to show that the circle of child abuse will never stop if we don’t put an end to it!
The first film runs nonverbal and is accompanied however by the song "Our Children".
Again and again, the hint should be visible on www.wakeup-stopchildabuse.com, on www.myspace.com/wakeupprojectsand on child helplines.
Both films will utilise amateur actors drafted into this project from the streets of Basle.
Those two films will be made for every other country to use as a prevention campaign with their own child helplines and website adresses shown throughout the whole films as well.

PETITIONS:

We believe that sentences currently meted out internationally to child abusers, rapists and murderers are far far too lenient.

We believe that this action needs to be international. Child Abuse is not limited to just one country. We need to demonstrate that we are not alone in our anger against perverts. Perverts do not deserve their freedom to re-offend!!!

CELEBRITIES:

Now that we have gained Registered Charity status, we are hoping to attract some famous celebrities to give their support to Wake Up - Stop Child Abuse. We hope that we can persuade them to make cameo appearances within our short films and maybe visit some of our physical projects mentioned below.

INTERNATIONAL CD-COMPILATION:

We are going to produce a series of CD-Compilations of bands and musicians dedicated to ending child abuse. The first compilation will feature talented people from across Switzerland. A second CD will be an international compilation supported by musicians from all around the world.
Following these two initial compilations, we hope to produce a new CD once every second year.

INTERNATIONAL CONCERTS:

We are going to organise benefit concerts all around the world under the name “Stop Child Abuse Aid” to be performed simultaneously in each country once every second year.
We are planning the first such concert in 2011, 24-26 june in Basle, Switzerland.
If you are interested in helping to organise a benefit concert in your own country, or if you know someone else who might be, please let me know (in your message please use the subject title “CONCERTS - I CAN HELP!”

POSTER CAMPAIGN:

We are launching a poster campaign in Switzerland which aims to encourage young people who are suffering from abuse to speak out and get help.
We will have a new poster campaign every year.

DROP IN CENTRES:

Perhaps most importantly is our face to face contact with the victims themselves.
We are organising the first WAKE UP HOUSE in Basle. We intend to establish a drop in centre for children suffering from child abuse in every city in Switzerland and then hopefully roll out the idea internationally.
The centres will provide youth club type facilities for vulnerable children. We are planning lots of activities to keep them occupied, such as recording music, shooting films, photography, dancing, drama and directing.
We are hoping to further help these children with their careers by building bridges between such children and employers. We hope to organise work experience projects in a wide range of different careers such as accountancy, building, retail and factory work.
We are currently in negotiation with other voluntary organisations to provide fully trained registered psychiatrists to offer help and advice to children.
We intend to utilise security guards and a comprehensive security system to ensure that no adults who have not passed a rigorous government approved vetting check are allowed into the WAKE UP HOUSES.
The end goal of the WAKE UP HOUSE is to get children away from the streets, drug abuse, alcohol dependency, crime, self hurt and abuse. We want to give them new hope and demonstrate to them new perspectives in life. We want to give them the opportunity not only to survive their abuse, but also to blossom in society. We also want to end the life-cycle of abuse so that their children will not suffer as they did!

“Wake Up-Stop Child Abuse“ is an active, registered and non profit charity organization. We’re not just here to bring awareness about child abuse, because the whole world already knows about those terrible crimes inflicted on our children!
We’re here and that’s our main goal, to work together with children and teenagers, to help them find their way in our wasted and ignorant society and hopefully make it a better one for themselves and the next generations.
We want to get them off the streets, away from drugs, alcohol, crime, abuse, violence, corruption and self destruction!
And we want to give them new hope and demonstrate to them new perspectives in life!

To prevent future generations from suffering, we have to STOP CHILD ABUSE!
We must never forget…

and there is nothing the law can do
because i have a mental disorder
due to the abuse i had to go through!

THE SWISS GOVERNMENT HAS TURNED DOWN THE REGISTRATION OF PEDOPHILES, CHILD ABUSERS AND CHILD MURDERERS WITHOUT ASKING OR INFORMING THE SWISS PUBLIC!

IN SWITZERLAND WE DON'T HAVE ANY STATISTICS ABOUT CHILD ABUSE AND THOUGH THERE'S NO REGISTRATION TO LOOK UP ON, NO FAMILY CAN BE ASSURED THAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE SAFE HERE!

IS THAT REALLY WHAT THEY CALL PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN,
OUR FUTURE???

By the way, there's no data protection for bank robbers in Switzerland!
Of course money and corruption do rule the world and there's no money to be made by fighting the war against child abuse!
So lets just carry on messing up our children, our future!
But we must keep in mind, the feedback will hit us like a bomb!

OF COURSE IT IS MUCH EASIER TO PUNISH OUR YOUTH HARDER THAN GRABBING THE PROBLEM AT THE BEGINNING!!!

According to swiss newspapers, the swiss government wants incest to be exempt from punishment!

First they've turned down twice the registration of pedophiles and child abusers, and now this!

What on earth is going on in this oh so beautiful country which we swiss call the golden cage?
And what's coming next?
The legalization of child pornography?

"MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES" by Ralph Jones

As we grow older, we often find it is our memories which become our most treasured possessions. Perhaps the most precious of these is our very first memory. For you this may be a bitter sweet memory. It may be a recollection of the very first time you fell off your scooter, then ran crying into your mother’s welcoming embrace and healing kiss. Or maybe this memory is an entirely marvellous one your father carrying you around upon his shoulders at your fourth birthday party whilst all your friends sang “Happy Birthday” to you. Ah … such fond memories.

I have a first memory too!

Shortly before my fourth birthday I was sitting alone and cross legged upon the cold floor of my father’s flat near the balcony window. My father had invited some of his rough and rowdy drinking friends into our home. As was common, they were really drunk and sniggering loudly at some filthy joke. The air stank of stale cigarette smoke and unwashed bodies.
Suddenly my entire world was turned upside down. I felt a sharp pain in my left leg. Blood was rushing into my little head. My father had grabbed hold of me by the leg and was now holding me upside down. He lifted me up over the balcony rail and dangled me in the air high up over the concrete pavement far below, loosening his grip and pretending to drop me as his friends clapped, laughed and shouted encouragement over to him.
I was so terrified that I did what any child must do under such circumstances. I wet myself. My father and his kind friends found this even more amusing. Then my loving father hit me for the crime of wetting myself, ripped off my clothes and threw me into the shower. Following this he made me sit naked in the middle of that room for hours, as his friends amused themselves by making jokes about my predicament.

Often as a young child I was not allowed to attend school because my father was afraid the teachers would see all the bruises covering my thin tiny body. Because of this I was far behind in all my subjects and became isolated and friendless at school. But the beatings, the humiliation in front of his nice friends and my problems at school were not what I most feared.
The worst aspect of living with my father was his frequent visits to my bedroom in the middle of the night, roughly shaking me awake and coercing me to give him sexual gratification. He would force me to take his penis into my mouth and pleasure him to orgasm. I did not dare to tell anyone about my vile nightmare existence because of his constant threats to hurt me even more if I ever informed on him.
Now do you understand how it is possible for a four year old boy to wish to take his own life?

At the age of eight I was placed into a home for delinquent children because I was perceived to be a bad child. Although I felt abandoned, I also began to feel more comfortable there than I ever had before. For the first time in my short life nobody was torturing me or sexually abusing me.
It was not to last. After only a few weeks a male social worker came into my bedroom, dragged me out of bed and forced me to perform that same foul disgusting act. It was during this truly low period in my life I learned I was never safe from child abuse anytime or anywhere.

I can only thank God that I always had my guitar and my music, because otherwise I might not be here today to tell you this sad story.

Now my greatest desire it to increase awareness about the damage done to children everywhere through child abuse. The terrible pain caused by abusers does not stop as soon as the last kick lands on a child’s body or when the bruises fade away to become invisible. The mental pain inflicted on that child stays with him or her for life. I can say this with certainty because I am not quoting from some old text book case study. Rather I am telling you about my own true life.

It is the responsibility of everyone today to do whatever they are able to do in order to help take care of all our children. After all the children are our future!
