My heart is into culture. To see the smile on a person's face when you say something uncommon to know in their language, is amazing. Whether it's the Mexican kitchen workers @ my work, a deaf person ordering coffee at my other work, or asking a person with a French accent,"Il fait froid, n'est ce-pas?".... To see their eyes light up, and know that I made a connection really moves me. That's what brought me to studying foreign languages. I have the memory for it, and languages have always been a forte of mine :)
Other than that, I like movies. Whether I'm going with someone to the theaters or not. Even if I'm just sitting at home. No, I don't put it on American Idol, MTV 1-2-or 87...I don't watch most of that anymore, so thank God for OnDemand! Music is high on the list as well. If you'll glance at my playlist, there's plenty of genres from which to choose.
I also like drawing and writing. I've found that in doing either, it's best to specify what your style is. For drawing I don't use color really...just pencil and the occasional charcoal. What I draw are people I know in lifelike form. Once in a blue moon I'll get inspired to do scenery or animals. Now, for writing I talk about strong emotions, society issues, and the like. I do poetry too, but it's been a while!
This year I'm making an effort to reconnect with friends especially. That's something to be continued though....
I love songs you have to listen to for the lyrics. If you look on my playlist, there's only a few songs that I like just because the way that they sound. The rest of it are songs for my family members, self-descriptive songs, heartbreak songs, or messages to people who know me. I like a lot of stuff, but I do have my limitations...as does everyone else. But if you're reading this, please listen to the track, "The Sunscreen Song". I think everyone should listen to that one at least once :)

Television
On the rare occasion I do watch t.v., it's Will&Grace (Love you Xander!), Frasier, or Friends. As for the rest, there's too much reality t.v. today, so I don't watch it much anymore. What's the point? So you can see other people living their lives instead of having one of your own? Think of how much more you could fit into your life if you stopped watching so much t.v.. Something to consider, right?
