   Vampire Novel's Blurbs
About me:
'Waking' is a modern, surreal and psychological vampire story which is both original in its reinterpretation of the popular mythology, and in the book's bilinear story line. The odd chapters are in 1st-person, following the birth, or 'waking' of one vampire, and the story of his discovery of who he was, is, and is destined to become. The even chapters are told in 3rd-person, following the tireless exploits of a maddenned vampire hunter, seeking revenge, by any means, for a ruined life. These individual perspectives are independantly motivated, not following the events of the other's plot. They do share many characters and events, giving the reader a multiperspective look at the world; and eventually, the stories meet, revealing much. -----A synopsis----- Three days after his murder, Child awakens on his deathbed with no memories and many questions. Stumbling deep into a surreal and supernatural world, it only took him one bite to learn what he has become. It will take the wisdom of a few seasoned vampires to show him what to make of his dark gifts in an even darker world. Torn between seeking vengeance for his own murder and rejecting his lost and forgotten life, Child will take to the shadows, seeking purpose beneath his grim surface, and discovering what he must do to be at peace, learning along the way that humans can be the biggest monsters of all. Robert Southey didn’t always believe in vampires…not until tragedy ruined his life and opened his eyes, ten years ago. Now, he’s a vengeful vampire hunter in search of the one who wronged him, leading his two sons and a small circle of men through the dirty alleys and abandoned lots of the city. But hunting is hard. Vampires are not like the creatures conjured up by lore, and when murders and disappearances go unreported by police, it becomes frustratingly harder…especially since everyone believes Southey is just a crazy old man. When a psychic acquaintance claims to ‘see things’ through vampires’ eyes, the desperate hunter will hatch a murderous lot. But when a deadly encounter with a legendary vampire witch haunts his every waking thought, Southey may go insane before he tastes his coveted revenge.

I loved this book. Wow! It is so open for a sequel or two, also. It was so great. I really loved your writing. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to side with Southey or Child.
Bravo!

The psychological aspect -- something that hasn't been touched into often enough. I did a psychological horror tale like that called Halloween Girl back in 2004. I did the vampire novella with the vampire being not even human at all (making them a large arachnid.)
