My parents, DOYT & DOROTHY HALL I was blessed to be their son!!!! / After graduating from Lafayette Jackson High School in Lafayette, Ohio where"W" was encourged to start singing solo by his music teacher Doyt Yoakam, "W" started performing with his brothers at a place called The Ratskeller in Lima, Ohio. Then they moved to California and performed there. Then to Arizona they performed under the name JAY BENTLEY and THE JET Set, then as THE BENTLEY BROTHERS they worked at The RED DOG SALOON / opened MR. LUCKYS with WAYLON JENNINGS in OCTOBER of 1966. Other night spots include JOE HUNTS / NEPTUNES EAST and also alot of road work in LAS VEGAS playing / CHICAGO / LUBBOCK, TEXAS and a whole lot more. Then in the mid 70's "W" went on his own and preformed in casinos in Las Vegas. The Frontier, The Barbary Coast,The Cowboy Club etc. and clubs in Tennesse, California , Arizona and he has jammed with many of the best dammed musicans and singers for example / Paul Frankiln / Earl Thomas Conley / The Treniers/ Alan Harkrader / Waylon Jennings / Jenny Lynn Hollowell / Cilifford Strange / Vern Gosdin / Mike (The Hound)Krogh/ Mike Ragains/ Tom Neal / Jerry Crivello / Scott Wulkotte, Michael Bush, Tom ( Uncle Blue ) Mortenson,Bart Brodnax,Chip Cole,Davey Jones, Marcus Terry and the list just goes on and on! Then he managed a couple of night clubs in Cave Creek, Az.The Silver Spur Saloon / The Mavrick Palace and played at Harolds Cave Creek Corral,
The Horney Toad , The Museum Club in Flagstaff, Matts in Prescott, The Broken Spoke in Tennesee and more clubs in Scottsdale and Phoenix.He resides between Grangeville, Idaho and Cave Creek,Arizona. Yo The W.Alan Hall Bandasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. I got to see one, count em, ONE, friend while I was there. Certainly hope I am not sooooo busy that when my friends come here, I can't make time to see them!!!!! Ya, I am not having a good day, missing everyone and ready to have Steve home. Just got the word yesterday that my son will be leaving for at least 5 weeks, then maybe moving south and my daughter will be leaving in about 7 weeks to move south. It's gonna be a long winter.
I should have waited to go down there, over 100 and the swimming pool was closed! We went to the Spur to listen to the band, have a couple of drinks and maybe do some dancing, HAHAHAHA, the band!!!! OMG, where do they find these people? Everyone that requested songs got the same answer-----"we don't know that song, it must be country!" Dear God, where did they think they were, Texas!!!!!
p.s. it was great spending time with the family though!
