Everyone should fall in love at least once. Everyone should find that one thing that excites their soul and makes them complete. A young Nigerian boy fell in love when he first encountered Hip-Hop. The hard hitting beats and rhythmic lyrics caught his attention and inspired him to reach for the stars.

Who is this person? His name is Waleezy. Born and raised in the small city of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, it all began when the Rhode Islander heard the record “Hypnotize” by the Notorious B.I.G. After hearing this record, Waleezy was inspired to become an emcee. This was the beginning formation of the rapper and producer we know as Waleezy.

As Waleezy listened to more and more Hip-Hop music, he began to express himself by writing his own rhymes. Waleezy’s descriptive lyrics and smooth flow was undeniable. This inspired the Rhode Island native to write and record his own songs and follow his dream of becoming a Hip-Hop legend. “God inspires me to pursue my music career because he gave me the gift of emceeing/rhyming and if it was not for him, I would not be here, let alone rap.”

The more Waleezy wrote, the better he got at his craft. But he wanted to do more than just rap over industry instrumentals and beats made by others. He wanted to make music that was different and reflected his own personal style. This motivated Waleezy to start creating his own Hip-Hop beats in 2005. Today, Waleezy still makes Hip-Hop beats for himself and other artists while experimenting with many genres of music such as R&B and Pop.

One of Waleezy’s biggest achievements music wise would have to be him performing in front of hundreds of people. “I was very nervous when I first began performing; I still get nervous before performing, but not as much as I did when I first began.” The Rhode Island native has opened up for several notable Hip-Hop acts and others such as Cassidy, Kidz In The Hall, and Alex Thomas (comedian) just to name a few.

Not only is Waleezy a Hip-Hop artist and producer, but he is also a successful event promoter. He is part of a promotion team called “Blockstar Productions” which was started by two of his friends Jason Almeida and Stanley Carmicheal and has had many successful events in many of Rhode Island’s biggest clubs.

Waleezy released his first official mixtape “Back On My Grind” in 2008 which caught the attention of many and established a solid fan base. This mixtape has a mixture of a deep, street, soulful vibe.

Waleezy has released his second solo project titled “The Inner Me” with producers K-Thug (Providence, RI) and D-Man (Brockton, MA) and is now available for FREE DOWNLOAD. This mixtape goes in dept in exploring who Waleezy is as an artist and allows him to discuss many interesting topics in his lyrics.

Without a doubt Waleezy is a rising star. He is a double threat to the rap game with his producing skills and his undeniable flow. He is heading down the right path to success as he follows his dreams down the road to Hip-Hop. Waleezy’s music career is bound to take off in a positive direction, so keep an eye out for what he has in store.
