Based on the Atherton Tablelands, approximately an hours drive from Cairns, the club is dedicated to the encouragement, development and promotion of youth involved in the country music scene in Far North Queensland.
Walkamin Country Music Club came into being over a decade ago and was the brain child of local Tablelands identity Bob Neate who saw the need to form a separate club that would specifically foster the talents of children and teenagers wanting to write, sing and play country music.
The Walkamin Country Music festival & Talent Quest happens annually in mid October. The festival has played host to many of Australia's top country artists including Lee Kernaghan, Gina Jefferies, Beccy Cole ,The Wolverines, Adam Brand, Melinda Schneider, James Blundell, Troy Cassar Daley, John Williamson, Bobby Cash The Indian Cowboy, Adam Harvey, The Sunny Cowgirls and many more. The talent quest is one of the biggest on QLD's calender and is affiliated with the NQ and Brisbane Champion of Champions and the Tamworth Cameratta (a scholarship is awarded personally each year to one outstanding performer by Mr Greg Williams -Cameratta Founder.)
Regular family nights and workshops take place across the Tablelands where youth are able to perform on stage with a professional backing band lead by guitarist and musical maestro Gary Dozier.

We have now uploaded a new song, a Bad Ass Christmas Country song called "Cow Bell" (originally called "Jingle Bell") so if you miss being a cowboy when you have to dress out as Santa, so check out this song and you will remember who you are.
