| About Walker Wood |
Walker Wood's music drifts somewhere between folk rock and lush, space rock/pop, and has been described as Neil Young meets Pink Floyd meets Radiohead.
Walker began experimenting with electronic sounds late in high school, and during his first few years in college began honing his skills at writing full songs. But it wasn't until 2004's "All Good Things..." that his sound finally came together. With that album, and 2005's "The Distance Between", the first two parts of the "Electric Morning Trilogy" had been completed. Also in 2005 Walker was nominated for the Fort Worth Weekly's Best New Artist, along with the great Fort Worth band Chatterton, who won the title for 2005. He is currently working on finishing the final album in the trilogy which will be titled "Broken Songs For Broken Records".
While working on his own solo projects, the producer/singer-songwriter has also played for a short time with the band Flickerstick, sitting in on keyboards and theremin, sat in with singer-songwriter Taylor Craig Mills on his solo project, as well as producing his popular song "Tell It To the Ones" with Walker and Taylor's longtime friend and fellow Fort Worth musician Jordan Roberts.
Walker is now currently working on producing the band Get Well, and their first 7 song studio EP, and is also working on a new side project, On A Holiday, with his guitarist Jason Pollard. On A Holiday is focusing more on combining experimental, beat driven electronics with pop/folk stylings.
By the way, for anyone who wishes to know, all of my artwork is done by a brilliant man named Pete. If you know him, you know him. If not, well, thats all you need to know. But, for those of you un-initiated with his work, check out his Deviant Art website at: http://che-gue-petey.deviantart.com/
-Cheers
