   dawn's Blurbs
About me:
I am living, learning,
Tasting feeling seeing hearing, yes living.
I sit beneath and climb trees, I swim in the waters, I climb mountains. Walk in prairies bogs, and mores. Stick my tongue out to taste the rain, lift my face up to the heavens to be kissed by the sun, caressed by winds, converse with friends and strangers.
I write, have self published two audio cds, writing four new series of things usually paralleling spiritual ritual with life and social justice..
I love animals, insects, snakes, birds…. The smell of roses wild in bloom wisteria dripping from oaks , dirt in the forest,
qranite sands .
Carrot .
Sew on hand crank and treadle, design clothes,
Paint pictures, acrylic water colour and oil
Sculpt with clay and wood
Crochet , free style
Weave, Spin wool and flax.
Beadwork, flat peyote weave freestyle.
Sing( am on one blues cd) five octave voice.
Play enough violin to entertain children
Play the recorder and am teaching myself flute.
Garden, collect seeds, wild craft, make tinctures, heal with herbs,
Eat wild edibles, walk in seasons.
Have lived for a decade without electricity and running water, grew the bulk or gathered our food, birthed my own babies.
Love to travel haven’t visited two states, Michigan and Alaska
Love Scotland, Praha. Find London busy, but energized, NYC too!
Taken the train, aero plane and car road trips every year of my life. ,
Swam in the Mississippi, gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, Pacific, Yellowstone River, Gardner river, Hebgen lake, itchatucknee, north sea, Maine’s shores, Cape Cod, lazy south’s swamps and brown rivers, Oregon’s tidal pools and cliffs, California’s sandy beaches and drift wood, Hiked Rockies, Appalachians, trails here and there.
Visit cemeteries everywhere, since six years old find energy and peace there.
Of note, Hibernia ST Margaret’s amongst the old magnolias, Vermont’s old cemeteries, A cemetery on a bluff outside Manhattan Montana where Icy May lies.
Praha s huge cemetery with life size statues galore and ivy gracing the lying places.
Love castles, the highlands, grassy fields, pebble laden brooks, ferny forests.
Ps. I made a pact with myself some years ago, to learn a skill each year. To look at my life, each eve of birth celebration and assess what I ve done, given and what I could do more so, what I would like to learn that I might share more,
And thus I find this life a gift and journey, a wonderful exchange.
Bittersweet, just like the chocolate, the calamundens I eat.
Walk in peace and beauty.

Hi Dawn,

How are you? Haven't heard from you
in awhile. But then again, I don't
'get around' as much as I used to and
I do apologize for that.
Hope all is well and that you are happy
in your 'now'.
Wishing you a fantastic week end,
one that is thoroughly enjoyable.
Make some beautiful memories!

Much love and light,
Brenda

Hello Dawn ~ Sending Love and HOPE

The Four Candles, Author Unknown

The Four Candles burned slowly.
Their Ambiance was so soft you
could hear them speak...

The first candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody
wants to keep me lit." Then Peace's flame slowly
diminishes and goes out completely.

The second candle says, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am
no longer indispensable." Then Faith's flame slowly
diminishes and goes out completely.

Sadly the third candle spoke, "I Am Love and I haven't the
strength to stay lit any longer."
"People put me aside and don't understand my
importance. They even forget to love those who are
nearest to them." And waiting no longer, Love goes out
completely.

Suddenly...A child enters the room and sees the three
candles no longer burning. The child begins to cry, "Why
are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the
end."

Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy,
"Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we
can re-light the other candles."

With Shining eyes the child took the Candle of Hope and
lit the other three candles.

Never let the Flame of Hope go out of your life.
With Hope, no matter how bad things look and
are...Peace, Faith and Love can Shine Brightly in our lives.

"i ve gathered weeds in belgium i ve gathered weeds in france, i ve tumbled by a forest in the deep southern wood

and i eat the famed lambs quarter that gardeners rip from their soil
o let not there be rot and spoil
stewards,
what will many do
when they cant go to a grocery store
as bank s fold
mortgage companies collapse.
jobs are hard to come by
rent is higher than a mortage payment
electricity companies in rural areas are
jacking up prices
weather patterns have changed.
the world awaits
we have not been good stewards
now how you going to feed your carolina dog
???"
Thank you for the wonderful comment . I will feed it squirrel guts and fish guts...also road kill. Many dogs love to eat human poop, too.

~Please set aside five minutes when you can ....
relax and watch this short film!
I found it quite moving and a beautiful Truth ~

It is important to recognize the power of our emotions--and to take responsibility for them by creating a light and positive

atmosphere around ourselves. This attitude of joy that we create helps alleviate states of hopelessness, loneliness, and despair.

Our relationships with others thus naturally improve, and little by little the whole of society becomes more positive and balanced.

- Tarthang Tulku
